Hitwise, our first top ten placement in Shopping

We have been top ten on Hitwise for Entertainment and Humour for quite a while (ranked at 7) but we got our first top ten shopping classification this week

We are ranked number 10 in

Shopping and Classifieds - Toys and Hobbies

which is quite an achievement.

We have never bought Hitwise info as it is such a lot of money and I'm not sure we would see the return on investment.

Has anyone here used them? I know there are a couple of people here who have worked for big ecommerce sites. Did they use it to advantage?

They monitor traffic and they have some very insightful information like who in your sector is getting surges in traffic and possibly why, who people visited immediately before and after coming to your site so you can see who your real immediate competitors are.

And a load of other stuff.

They do one off reports these days but it used to be about £8000 a year
