Large item delivery service

Hi,

We are currently looking into internet selling for our furniture. We have had lots of good feedback about the furniture but the only thing that is letting us down at the minute is a good value delivery service.

We can deliver locally in our van but it's the longer distance deliveries that are troublesome. We have found a couple of companies offering tailored furniture delivery (2 man team including installation in correct room) however prices are coming in at around £95 per delivery for a 6ft wardrobe. :o

Does anyone know of any companies that do this so we can be sure we've got the best prices & value service & aren't just wasting money.

We are based near Selby, North Yorkshire and aiming for around 20 items per month at least.

We have more than enough space so that isn't an issue, in fact we have spare space coming out of our ears!! It's purely the delivery service we require.

Hi - we send out 10 foot surfboards on a regular basis from our shop in Barnstaple. We use Nightfreight for that. You need to set an account up with them initially but the prices will be far lower than you are currently being quoted.

We originally were charged about £40 per board when we first set up with them (fully insured) and I think thorugh doing volume we are now down to about 25.

Don;t expect first class customer service but the prices hit the spot.

Hi Simon,

We are a furniture wholesales and although we have our own vehical, like yourself we try our hardest to cut down on costs. When delivering one or two items to long distant destinations I have found that a company we use called Home Delivery Group come in very handy as they charge £30 for the 1st item per destination. They also do direct to home deliveries (hence the name) at no extra charge.
