when was the company registered - I would guess 10 June 2008?
You may have only started to trade in Oct but accounts are due at Co HOuse for year end.
Get an accountant asap!

30,000 get opened each month - so not surprising. IMO this is on the increase though!
Limited Company – what have I got myself into?

If it really is 'blank' then you need dormant accounts. You get an accountant to do it, and it will cost you £100ish, give or take £50 or so, depending on who you use.
Talk to a few accountants ASAP (us lot on this forum are a friendly bunch really - have a look at this sticky (http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=62129)about choosing an accountant - you don't have to pick someone local to you).
Also do read Elaine's links. Sadly we see cases like yours all the time. You can get round this but need to act quick! :)

As others have stated you must have Dormant Accounts produced ASAP.
These can be filed online and should be very quick to produce, so also should not cost much for an accountant to do for you (< £100) - you will however need a Webfiling Code for filing on the Companies House website - you should have received this in a letter from Cos House - check that you can find it ASAP or you will probably not be able to get a new code in time now - in which case you will have to file the accounts by post.
The fines for late filing of accounts start immediately they are overdue at £150 (for a Private Company), and increase after another month, etc.
In short - get a fixed fee quote from an accountant ASAP and assurance that they can complete the dormant accounts immediately.
Good Luck.

As the business started trading during August 2009, there will be some entries in the period ended 31st August 2009. That means doing a full set of accounts even if you traded for a few days.
To file dormant accounts, you will have to shorten the year to just before you started trading (hopefully 9th June 2009) then the next set will be to 9th June 2010 etc.
A competent accountant can do it all but get it sorted quick!
