Hi,
An item here why FreeAgent works so well for small business including contractors and freelancers. Plus, a link to Freeagent included in the item with a referral code built in ;-)
And a Big Hello to Mike, my, we bump into each other all over the place.

Hello Jaffa!
I've seen this forum before; you posted some links to some articles you wrote here on your blog. Tis a good blog.
FreeAgent Central is awesome. Not just for the referral programme (which is clearly a template for how all good referral programmes should operate) but also because it is - hands down - the best overall accounting package for small businesses and freelancers.
I will have my own blog article and embedded referral code going up shortly - after DIY and Xbox360 night is over :)

Thanks Mike,
Although if I recall, it was you who pointed me to FreeAgent in the first place, so my thanks (massive, huge, big sqeezy-hugs of thanks) to you for that.
It has saved me so much money this year, and freed up so much time, I would not have believed it.
Looking forward to you getting your blog back up and running.

Hi guys,
if you want to take part in a similar referral scheme, and earn £10 per referral, contraccounts.com offer an open affiliate scheme, i use it and have found it pretty good, i give my clients a bit of a discount on their websites when in the web development process if I can include my affiliate link into their profiles, and its worth the return! :)

Hi Guys,
I used a referral code from here, then worked the free trial. Can't recommend it highly enough!
I've been looking for something which offers all your accounting and invoicing needs in one place. Before I tried make best use of a manual system. Excel spreadsheet for accounts, viewing online bank account to match up, separate app for invoice generation, then manually chasing payments and ticking them off in Google mail as paid, then using Google Calendar for reminders, renewals etc...
Ultimately a bit of a mess so was keen to find a solution and looked around the main companies on-line clearbooks etc...
Obviously checking their website you can see the extensive support for everything you'd need to run your accounts. It's now so easy for me to generate estimates and invoices in seconds and have an overview of money paid and owed.
If anyone wants to use my 10% discount code: 3bkzwwob
Thanks in advance to anyone using it.

Thanks in advance to anyone who uses my 10% discount FreeAgent referral code 331b1opw or clicks this direct link: FreeAgent Central (http://fre.ag/331b1opw)
Great accounting and book keeping system, which keeps improving with every update. They listen to their users and add the features they require, plus the customer support is excellent.

Yup, brilliant bit of software, can't recommend it enough. It lost my accountant his job (cheer). If the other codes are used up, try 36ag2y4n or click on fre.ag/36ag2y4n.

I run a small web development company in Manchester UK (4 guys) and it's completley transformed the way we roll over the last few months. The automatic recurring invoicing has allowed us to re-bill all our customers without having to manually chase up each month. Also, we're now VAT registered so having all this sorted by FAC is a massive relief.

Apparently they'll be doing automatic bank statement importing soon too. This will be a great time saver for me (big hint if you're listening up there in Edinburgh!)

Is IRIS the same as freeagent but just rebranded ?.

Yes, I believe accountants can become FreeAgent partners and resell a rebranded version of their software. With the rebranded versions I'm not sure if you recommend a new user that you will receive an additional 10% off your subscription. If this is not the case you maybe better to join FreeAgent directly, with a 10% discount and refer some friends to get 10% off each time, until its free.

Iris are partners with Free Agent and hold places on the Free Agent board. They were the preferred supplier for small business bookkeeping software. You get all the benefits of Free Agent and will continue to receive all of the updates Free Agent introduce if you're an Iris customer.

Hi Gav, The question is - how many friends / people does each person need to know with a small business to benefit from the additional 10% benefit?
My option gives people the chance to benefit from a 20% discount from the start and doesn't put any pressure on them to refer friends etc.

Hello. Do you still use an accountant for your tax return with free agent? If so, how do they working with the info all being in here?
I used Kashflow for a while, it was a bit clunky with daily takings.
Currently i enter daily takings into an excel sheet, and bookkeeper who works for accountant does th rest. (more as a favour really.)
Does freegaent have a way to enter daily takings?
Anyone tried the iPad apps for bookkeeping?

Hi Littlebiz,
Free Agent will provide all of your information for you to complete your annual tax return, however you have to be sure that you've entered everything you should've declared / claimed. One of the key benefits of Free Agent / Iris is the tax timeline which gives you a clear timescale on when tax and VAT is due for payment.
With Free Agent you can upload your bank statements and you can allocate each deposit as daily takings/money in or alternatively you can just enter it manually based on invoices raised or money received.
Here's a little demo if you want to have a look >>here (http://www.theonlinebookkeeper.com/blog/iris-openbooks-take-the-2-minute-tour/)<<
Free Agent is alos Ipad friendly so you can always see you businesses accounts. I'd be happy to give you an online demonstration, just drop me a PM and I'll set up a demo company for you to work with.
Kind Regards

I should've also mentioned that you can either grant them access to the information or export to an excel file for them to use.
Completely flexible.

Hi Neil,
I answer to your question, just one.
Each referral will get you 10% off your monthly subscription. It just gives the a user the option to sign up a few new users (no pressure) and in the end receive more of a discount on their monthly subscription.

Hi Gavin,
That's right each one gets you 10% off and if you can manage to refer to multiple people then you could get a greater reduction on the software cost. That is all dependent on you referring further people / businesses.
I offer 20% off each month, every month and it gives people the opportunity to use the software at a reduced cost (based on the Free Agent RRP) from the outset.
It won't suit all but it will benefit others.
Kind Regards
Neil

Hello. Do you still use an accountant for your tax return with free agent? If so, how do they working with the info all being in here?
Hi littlebiz,
When I moved my accounting/bookkeeping to FreeAgent I changed my accountant to one listed on the FreeAgent website. I have been very happy with that move, which has saved me money too. I also feel more comfortable that my accountant has a good working knowledge of the product and can provided assistance. That including the great customer support from FreeAgent, means I have yet to find a problem which can not be solved.
I would be happy to recommend my accountant to you. Because all my accounts are on online, all communication can be done remotely. So location is not a problem meaning and no more trips to the accountant with bags of folders.
Drop me a PM if you would like the accountants contact details.
Kind regards
Gavin

Hi Neil,
Sorry if I have stepped on your toes, I was only pointing out the money saving options available (helpful to a small business). You are right a new user would be 10% better off the RRP price to start with.

Hi Gavin,
I assure you, you haven't stood on my toes but merely stated your point of view which is what this forum is all about. I also appear on the Free Agent accountant partner list (here (http://www.freeagentcentral.com/partners/accountants?service=®ion=Lothian)) and I'd be happy to pass on references from members of this forum who use my services.
I just wanted to offer small businesses the opportunity to save 20% on the cost of Free Agent without the need to seek out referrals. By the way, @maslins is a very good accountant ;).
Kind Regards

I would also like to throw my hat in the ring for FreeAgent. Since moving my accounts there my life has been so much easier. I particularly love how easy it is to send and track invoices.
My accountant is also thrilled because it makes her job SO much easier.
