Hi, I'm Joanna and I'm new here, so Hello everybody :). I'm just wondered if anyone can help me. I was trying on different forums but no luck :|.
I'm going to spend some money for the website with my recipes. This will be my own website where I would like to publish my receips + photos. I would like to have a nice clean design and some cool logo. I sent an email to the web design company - it was here -> joomlawebdesigns.com. They will give me some easy to use system where I could write my recipes as easy as using Word.
They said they can make me a website in few days. The price for the website is 800£. Is it good or bad? Could you help me please? I received also some other offers from different web design companies but too expensive for me

Thanks

Joanna

P.S. Appologizes if this is wrong place to ask for help

Hi Joanna,

That's a price pulled out of thin air. They don't truly know your requirements.

Instead you need to put all your wishes in writing, stating what you need the site to do and how you envision the site looking. Then invite a number of companies to produce a proposal for you based on your requirements and the budget you have available.

Then choose the company which offers the best deal.

are you planning to sell anything from the website ? so would nned some sort of cart / ecommerce ?

or just an informative site people can just view ?

just an idea but if you just want to make your reciepes available online for peopla to see you could just do an online blog ... just a thought , and a little easyer to setup than a normal website .

im jst saying if you post what you want form the website then im sure there lots of folk on here who could point you in the right direction :)

You could get someone to install and setup Wordpress for you quite cheap.

Then use a theme like these: http://templates.entheosweb.com/WordPress_Themes/Recipes.asp

Could save you quite a bit of cash if this solution would work?

Hi Joanna

Welcome to the site. I think it is difficult to rate the pricing without seeing the spec. That said, it sounds like pricing could be quite ok for a well produced joomla site. I use joomla for web development too and it is quite a nice CMS (content Management System) though there are several around. The interface which Joomla uses is like word, but it isn't actually word. IF you are interested, please PM me and I will tell you more and can even demo a joomla produced site for you and how it works. Also, I have a very special offer on for Joomla developed sites which you may be interested in, again if you are please get in touch. Good Luck.

David
