Bear in mind that if you have an outdated copy of Sage you may not have the UAP data for NI filing of P14s.

Tom, for future reference, is there a way to import Sage Payroll data into 12Pay?

Yes, sort of. We don't have a specific Sage import, but if you can get your data from a previous system into a spreadsheet, and head the columns up with the headings we want (we don't care about the order of the columns) we can import it. Plenty of people have managed this from Sage in the past.

But our recommendation is usually that unless you're an absolute whiz with extracting and heading up the data it is going to be quicker to just type the data into 12Pay manually if a site has fewer than about 20 employees, because entering it only takes about 1 minute per employee, even if you have to enter the year's PAYE/NI totals.

OTOH we had an agency import 1100 temp employees into 12Pay last week, just so they could file, because they were having problems with their regular software provider. From their POV a bureau licence that amounted to less than 10p per employee just so that they could file was an absolute bargain. :)

Hi Elaine

Jason's away at an exciting tax seminar this afternoon but someone kindly offered to help so it's all sorted now, thank you.
