Hi all
I'm based in Brighton, East Sussex and was wondering if there were any other local lads or lasses on this forum?
Kind regards

Hi Natalie
I live in Hove (Poets Corner, Just off Sackville Rd).
Welcome to the forum. Do you use the Wired Sussex site or any local Chamber of Commerce's (Julie from B&H CoC used to be a regular on here.)

Hi all
Thanks for your replies - its so great to know you're out there, normally on forums I'm the only person from the South Coast! :D
I'm looking to do more networking locally - can you suggest any good groups? I've been to some Wired Sussex events which are ok - I've heard the Chamber of Commerce ones aren't that great for getting new business?
Kind regards
Natalie

Hi Taz
If you did start a breakfast club I'd be really interested in attending, I'm not much of a morning person, so I guess I'd have to have an extra coffee that day! I actually live on the outskirts of Brighton nearer to Shoreham, so I'd be interested in that as a venue too.
What was the BNI like? I didn't realise there was a group down here?
Kind regards
Natalie

BNI are big and well established, the yearly membership tops the £600 mark and they are strict on your attendance.
But like all network clubs you get out what you put in.
I will let you know about the new club in Brighton and the venue.

We almost bought a flat in RopeTackle in Shorham overlooking the river!
I too would also be very intrested in a Networking Club in Brighton.

We used to be based in Kemptown, then Preston Circus, now we're in offices adjacent to Hove Station - a great spot for hosting client meetings

No I don't think I ever got the code...
Looking at the site itself, it needs a new subcategory in Services for Business, for 'Legal Services'. I can't think of any other category to suit...

Hi Natalie,
From one marketing bod to another - have you tried the Women's Networking Company? They started off with lunches in Sussex and are now spreading further afield. They are really informal and friendly get-togethers.
I went to a lunch a couple of months back in Horsham (a quiet area of Pizza Express had been set aside for us) and it was very useful - no business from it or strong contacts, but useful just the same. About 14 of us there.
However, yesterday I went to their lunch in Crawley (The Gatwick Worth Hotel) - there were 15 of us - and I was the 'guest speaker'. "PR is not Rocket Science", don't you know! I made some very useful contacts - being the speaker obviously helped jog people to talk to me, but it would have been a good use of my time anyway.
The two ladies who run the company (Kelly Stephens and Sarah Steele) are really lovely. Have a look at their website (www.thewomensnetworkingcompany.com) and go along to one of their lunches (held every month at each of their locations) - they're doing a special at the moment of a non-member being able to attend two lunches at the member rate.
If you do go I'd be interested to hear what you thought.
All the best,
Lindsey.

Hi Lindsey
Thanks for your posting -believe it or not I'm already a member of that group, I joined at the end of last year. I go to the premier networking group, which is a lot more focused that the basic one and everyone is really helpful.
Well done you for being a speaker - always a scary thing to do!
By the way I'm totally with you and your comment on your profile about CSI New York, although unlike you I'm a Grisham fan so Vegas is my baby!
Hopefully we'll get to meet at one of the 'do's' sometime :D
Take care
Kind regards

Hi, new to the form, I'm along the coast in Worthing :) I currently work as a self-employeed multimedia consultant working for one main client, but looking at the logistics of going full-on with a multimedia design and consultation business. Good to see some other Sussex folk around!!
