Advice please - I have just signed up for shoppingbank.com and have given my debit card details and signed the agreement.

However I have just some research on this company and have found nothing favourable - so want to cancel it all.

I beleive I have a 7 day cooling off period, this isnt in the terms that I signed for - but do I have this right ?

I paid via a debit card £400 + VAT

Sounds to me like you have read these idiots and decided to change your mind. You dont have a 7 day cooling time because your not a customer! Bite the bullet, you made the choice to go with them, have faith in you own belief!
