Hi

Does anyone know of a cost effective way to plan jobs.

Say you have 10 field based technicians (so there base is thier home address) and you have a list of 100 postcodes that you have to visit for a period of time at each postcode in a month, you can put all this info in and it can tell you the best routes. Eg Starting in nottingham, do a job in doncaster on the way to leeds then back to nottingham stopping off in sheffield all between 9am - 5am on a weekday.

Just spoken to Paragon. Sounds like it will do the job but is is not really for small businesses with just 8 technicians, it is for big fleet management logistic companies. Very helpful though.

Any ideas/recommendations?

Even a google map api of somesort.

If your into programming then you can use Google with it's KML file structure to map locations into Google maps/Google for mobile and then once it's mapped the locations, you can then use it to route plot for your technicians.

I did something similar for a leaflet delivery campaign that we did, but targeting builders/roofers/plumbers etc and didn't fancy 5 mile walks or drives between leaflet drop.
