Hi
can some one tell me if you can use cat5 to carry voice on a normal bt line not ISDN as i need to run a extention from the Master box to another room.

Yes, You can use Cat5 cable to carry voice.
It will work perfectly!

You need a punch down tool, about £8 from screwfix.com, or a disposable one for £2
