The future of the James Bond movie franchise may be in doubt, after distributor MGM put itself up for sale, but that hasn’t stopped one London entrepreneur from organising a James Bond Casino Night for charity.
The event, to be held in The Chapel Bar in London’s popular Islington district on Friday 4th June, combines a fun casino with a cocktail bar, clips from the movies, and a fully themed James Bond interior. All the proceeds will be donated to The Samaritans.
Organiser Emily Hill said: “The timing seems perfect – I need to raise money for a charity bike ride challenge that I’m taking part in later this year, and people are talking about James Bond quite a lot at the moment because of the problems at MGM and the possibility that there won’t be any more Bond movies. This event will hopefully give people an opportunity to celebrate one of Britain’s iconic fictional characters.”

She now runs her own business, a web content agency called Write My Site (http://www.writemysite.co.uk (http://www.writemysite.co.uk/)).
