Has anyone used the online service to file nil P35 return?
I have - I got the mail to say they have received it but you are supposed to get an acknowledgement to say they have processed it.
Nothing received so far and I have done a few of them.
Any one else had any experience please?
Please don’t tell me this is another new system that doesn’t bloody work!

Apparently we've used this for a few cases. From what I understand you don't actually file a nil return, but advise them online that no return is due?
Like you, we've had emails to confirm that they received the notification, but not the promised emails to say that they've "processed" it. What is there to process?
It seems that they will send this second email "in due course" and we both know what that means to the Revenue.

Ok well at least it is the same for you.
I am working from what they say in the email plus in the latest employer bulletin here page 20:
On receipt of a completed form we will send you an acknowledgement followed by a further email when we have processed the form.

It will be interesting to see if they claim not to have received them!
If I were a betting person I see trouble ahead ....:rolleyes: (bursts into a Friday song :D:p)

A few years back (can't remember exactly when) I had a spate of telephone calls from clients in January because they'd had penalty notices for non submission of P35s. it would have been over £10,000 in penalties if they had stuck
Phoned the Revenue to be told that the returns were probably "still being processed in the system"
Eight months later! Some computer system that.
Just the sort of hassle that I wanted in the middle of the January rush.

There was a recent incident of this where they issued incorrect notices around September time for several hundred pounds.
All were incorrect and withdrawn on appeal.
How many people pay them though?
I think there are still many who assume HMRC get it right :p
If only this were the case - it would cut my work load considerably :)
I file nill online, get directed to a page saying it's been received, but never anything else. It's a right pain because you are never sure if it's gone through or not and quite often don't know what period you have and haven't done.
sorry, think I am talking about the monthly/quarterly rather than P35

I think you are talking about no payments due and not the no P35 due facility

Hi. I am new to the forum and would be glad if I could get some help here :)
I am helping my partner with his annual accounts as a Linited company.
He did not have any employees but suffered CIS deduction as a sub-contractor.
I filed his CT600 form and expected to get his CIS deductions refunded through that. Today I spoke to HMRC officer who told me that the money could be claimed only through PAYE form 35. Unfortunatelly I have already submitted on line that no P35 was to be completed.
Has anyone had the same problem before?
What do I need to do to correct this mistake? Shall I write to HMRC or just complete the paper P35 and return it to them. I just don't want to get any penalty for that.
Thank you.
Regards!
