I'm looking for travel press releases that people would like to submit for promotion on www.travel-rants.com.
The aim is to get travel rants as a media outlet for travel press releases on Google News - having chatted with someone from Google about this, I need more unique releases.. so..
Any ideas how I can do this?
This is an example of a recent release

Hi Darren,
I might be able to help soon as we are part way through a redesign and relaunch of BristolDirectory.com.
A shift in focus to entertainment etc may fall under the 'travel' headfer as we become more of a city guide instead of a straight directory, any good?

I would suggest doing a bit of digging and finding PR companies that specialise in travel type clients. Explain to them what you want and they should be happy to help.
I've also been working for a client that may be of interest - if you PM me your email addy then I'll send you over the release!

HI Darren,
Press releases sent via our service also go directly into Google News, MSN, Yahoo! News etc.
If you're looking for travel related releases, search our website and subscribe to individual RSS feeds - to keep you updated whenever a client sends out a new press release.

Anne. but I am not looking to pay for press releases, I am distributing the press releases through travel rants.com
On a much smaller level, but like PR web.com.
I'm hoping with enough unique press releases submitted each week, that I'll be able to use Google News to distribute the press releases through travel rants.
That's the plan anyway!

if you go to all the big travel companies they will have a media section on their websites.
In that section there is usually an option to be added to the news distribution list. Go for that. Press offices will be uber-glad of the opportunity, especially as you just place the release as written.
There is a ryan air doc on the telebox this week... i would keep an eye on the ryan air press office site and as soon as they issue a response (I guess they will as they view any publicity as good publicity) then get it onto your site...
That way once the google spider-men have picked it up you may get more traffic to your site as people search for Ryan air...? Just a thought?
Your PR has probably already got this lined up but... if you wanted to go the extra mile you could get your PR to do some form of Ryan Air related release about your business.
(maybe even sending over a bucket load of statements/comments to the nationals and trade mags with your thoughts on the doc and the effect it may have on the industry, pitching you as an industry expert. Timed so as it comes out on the day of the ryan air thing?)
Hope this helps

Thanks Andy, very helpful.
If you have any clients who are travel companies, feel free to send me any releases. I've a few PR companies sending me releases on a fairly regular basis.
