As Tesco say......every little helps!
If anyone has any spare pennies (or pounds :p) and would like to sponsor a good cause (Cancer Research UK) then you can do so here (http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/lucyandjudithauty)
This is the second year i've done it now, it is such a fantastic, emotional event and i'm really happy to be doing it (remind me of that on the morning won't you! :D).
Ok, so its not a marathon but then again i am no way, shape or form an athlete! 5km for me is a challenge trust me

I have some invoices due to be paid and will sponsor you next week Lucy. Good luck! :D :D :D I do the Adidas 5K in the autumn (I run for Jo's Trust, cervical cancer) and it's good fun. In a "oh my hips hurt" kind of way. ;)

heh, I haven't registered yet as at the moment there's a small chance I'll be out of the country the weekend of the Adidas 5K, if so I'll run the Cancer Research Run 10K instead in Oct. So don't want to jump the gun. :)

Last year I ran for Jo's Trust because I went through some health issues and their site was a huge help. After the drama I decided to reclaim my fitness, and doing the 5K was a big goal as part of it. I've now lost a couple stone and even occasionally run to or from the work studio, which is 5K. :)
So you go girl! I felt like dying last year, but did it. You're doing so much good for yourself and your charity. :)

Good luck Lucy - remember the Reebok slogan - 'Run at the speed of chat' - no need to kill yourself doing it!

Well done. I did sit there on Sunday thinking - 'thank god my next race is next week and not this'.
No shade and walking in that temperature is bad enough -let alone running!

My only thought was for the people doing the Edinburgh Marathon on that day.......5km didn't seem so bad compared to that!!!!!!

Well done for completing it...I went to watch and had forgotten how hilly Thornes park was.
Tough in the heat and the leading ladies did very well.
As for Edinburgh...I ran London in '07 in similar conditions and struggled horrendously.
I think that the RFL is great at encouraging women to take up a "free" sport. Long may it continue:)
