Hi,
Here is my situation: registered a company 1.5 yrs ago,, traded through the company a little, but becuase we moved premises straight away I didnt get any letters, and ive just been informed that becuase our company was supposedly inactive they dissolved it?? I think I was suppose to inform companies house we were trading...
The knock on effect of this is now the business account has been frozen with moeny in it...
How do I go about undissolving the business etc? Pleae advise, this was the first company i ever registered so was a bit naive/uneducated at the processes involved

Have a read here http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/about/gbhtml/gp4.shtml#ch4
And next time, get an accountant!

I believe you have fallen foul of the "Bona Vacantia" legislation whereby your money is now the property of the Crown.
In the small ads of accountancy magazines (like the ones in other mags for chat lines, viagra etc) there are various firms of dubious repute that claim to be able to have your company restored. No experience of using them though (ahem, just as I have no experience of the small ads in other mags...).

Be aware if you follow Dave's route, the late filing penalties become due.

As the company was formed approx. 18 months ago, accounts may not yet be due, so if you are quick you can get the company restored and file accounts without penalty.

The account has a respectable amount of money in it, so not so bothered about late fees, should I pay an accountant to restore it for me, or should i do it myself? Which would be best?

If you had an accountant, this would not have happened in the first place.....so I would get one now and let them sort it out for you!

What happened 3 months ago (http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=141100) that you didn't stop it getting dissolved then?

I think OP was ignoring this PROCESS until the bank account was actually forzen.
Now that he hasnt got access to the money he wants it to be sorted.
The only late fee which I think could be £100 for not informing whether its dormant or active.
Its still not VERY late, get an accounant on yearly package and get him to sort things out for you.

Cost £990.
You will still need an accountant to knock the figures together.
TomUK, with respect to companies house fines, if they are gazillions by now, you might be able to get away with just filing the most recent set of accounts (which arnt late yet, so no penalties - he!he!), but this is at your own risk, and it might not work with it being a restoration situation.
Take better care of the paperwork next time !

I am not sure of OP`s understaning but he could possibly do it himself for £100 fee.
OP, you wont get the same name. Think of a different name in the meantime.
