Look at the www.sothink.com site

they have some good products

they also have a decompiler, allows to decompile a swf and edit text within fla file

If you go on adobe you can download a trial of flash, i did it to edit a .fla menubar, its not the easiest of tasks ,

Adobes flash editor is not basic, but saying that, once you start getting into using it, it does become easier.

Thankyou everybody. I now have Sothink SWF decompiler and have Macromedia MX 2004 Professional.

I have a .swf file which I have converted into .fla and then TRY to edit .fla with macromedia but it only shows the starting frame of the movie and how can I edit the rest ? This is very confusing. lol

Don't have MX 2004 so this is the blind leading the blind, but...and this depends on how it was written , you are looking for the actionscript code which you should find in a tab called actions.
It may be blank when it opens up, that is because the code could be attached to an individual frame or an object on the flash movie 'screen', and it will display the code attached to the currently selected frame/object only.

So you will need to click on the objects and along the frames to find the code you are looking for.

Good luck

Thankyou very much for you time. I have now dropped this project according to this forums advice and would concentrate on HTML/CSS now.

Thanks
