I'm adding CSS to my custom CSS file in Wordpress and inserting the html into my homepage and it isn't styling... It's really annoying me now but it's probably something quite self explanatory to a designer.

Would anybody be as kind to help me with it please?

Let me know and I can either give you access or send you the code I am using. Thanks in advance.

Do you have the cache plugin installed?

Does it use more than one stylesheet where the second or third one or whatever changes the setting back?

Are you sure you are editing the right CSS file?

No I haven't got the cache plugin installed.

More than one stylesheet in use.

Definitely editing the correct stylesheet, another WP page is styled using CSS from the same stylesheet with no problems.

Thanks

Is the class being over styled by a subsequent css stylesheet? i.e are they in proper order and looking at source url the exact stylesheet being edited? i.e. localhost on dev machine as opposed to domainnameurl
Try using !important to see if that changes.
Are you using a reset stylesheet to begin with?
Have you removed any inline css in the content?

That's alright mate

Just so you don't have to clear your cache after every change, press Ctrl+F5 on the page you are on and it will load the website from the server and not the cache.

I was using Ctrl + F5 but it didn't make a difference, it was still showing unstyled for some reason.

Manually clearing my FF cache from the menu though sorted it, heh :D

Handy tip - when developing disable the browser cache :)

And if you want a laugh at what I have spent most of the day doing in relation to this post, take a look at my new homepage http://www.clubnetsearchmarketing.co.uk

I'm sure this is probably quite simple to a lot of people but trying to manually split a Wordpress page into two and then use CSS to style three columns as seen was a reeet mission! Haha

Am going to be posting the old version and the new version of my homepage in the review my site forum just to confirm that the (somewhat long winded) design choices today were indeed the right move so appreciate any feedback :)
