Hello peeps,

Was wondering if I could get some opinions on a something i would like to achieve...

Basically whether you think it would be possible, how difficult it would prove to do and maybe some hints on how you would approach it....

I want to get my site to rank highly for people looking for taxis where they have added the name of the town/city to the search... For example, "taxi manchester" or "manchester taxi"

Obviously, there are literally thousands and thousands of possible combinations to the search pattern and I just cannot get my head around how to chase this traffic.

Any help/tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Trev

Hiya!

My best advice would be to sign up to Google Analytics (if you haven't already) It will suggest the highest keywords to use for your site based on the sites content, this should make it alot easier to pick the ones MOST RELEVANT to your site and the people looking for it, and should help push your Google page rank up organically.

There are also many sites now that offer "keyword calculators" - you type in or copy a relevant section from your website, and it will create a list of possible keywords for you that will help improve your search engine listings.

Hope this helps, there are also some free articles on our website (www ipcdesign com) that you might find useful :)

I would go first for the taxi fare checker/ taxi cost calculator type keywords. I personally was looking for your website the other day, couldn't remember it's name or yours and couldn't find it through google. My reason for looking was I was due to arrive at Paddington at 11.30pm at night, I wanted to check if the fare was sensible, and then if so book a taxi.

I would imagine that my type of query would be your low hanging fruit. The easier ones to reach, and the easier ones to convert. Personally, I would try to set up a strategy that collected as many of these "low hanging fruit" searches, on the way to the greater goal of high rankings for "taxi anytown"

You should choose the combination by yourself and then try to optimize your web pages for those combination. Its true that nothing could be gained with out the hard work. The more hard work you will do the more you will have the results for your keyword combination.
