Im looking to change my provider after months of frustration. Im fairly close to switching to bigcommerce, but want to be sure its right. I have looked at some UK hosted solutions but cant find one that meets my needs.
I need:
at least 10 images per product (an easy "select all" for them to download)
easily modified store design, im no techy
reliable hosting
good order management system..
Any ideas ?
Thanks ;)

Please feel free to check our web hosting specially designed for ecommerce applications http://www.rshosting.co.uk/webhosting.html
We have been in business since the year 2003 and have come a long way now as one of the most reliable web hosting companies who does not oversell and believes in true 24/7 lightening fast support.
Our web hosting plans are linux - cpanel based, whcih means you can manage your websites with just a few clicks. The cpanel file-manager helps you to upload/download data to your website. Alternatively you can use any good FTP tool such as filezilla etc to manage files/folders under your website.

Just host something like OpenCart (http://www.opencart.com) yourself. It will give you more flexibility and mean you are in full control.
If you need hosting have a look at my signature.

I am not a part of sales team of BigCommerce to convince you about it. Just have a look at Top 10 Shopping Carts on toptenreviews.
I am a software developer myself with 8-years of experience and I have selected bigcommerce after full market reasearch. If you opt BigCommerce, you wouldn't be disappointed.

Great piece of software...
...but, do your research on the customer service of the company behind it. I've still not got over their ridiculous upgrade policy of 18 months ago. Really you need to get onto the customer forum of their shopping cart, but it's not open to public access. Ongoing problems with the cart software that BC developed out of (which therefore may affect BC) are that the Royal Mail module has pricing two years out of date and VAT is not correctly treated. Both should be fixed for version 6.0. There is also the further issue that they don't reach their goals before diverting their efforts into new projects, leaving existing customers somewhat disgruntled.
I've used software from this company for several years, but I'm slowly moving everything away and will not use them in future as I no longer trust them.

The VAT problem with the old cart is in these threads:

It is announced as fixed in BC V6, but still isn't in ISC 5.5.4 and it has been a year since the issue arose! It is pencilled in for ISC 6, but ISC 6 was pencilled for release alot earlier this year....

I hear somewhere ISC6 should be release end of Autumn still has not happened. At the moment i am still thinking what to do for a new planned shop use BC which is hosted in the USA or wait for ISC6.
VAT is now an issue also for EEC customers, also a small issue IF a customer orders from abroad and clicks UK FREE Postage no postage is applied it does not seem to see where they are ordering from.
Other than that I have found Interspire to be Good.

If you are VAT registered Interspire (and I can only assume BC) is not VAT compliant. It is a really good ecommerce system if you are based outside of the EU! Sadly their support was rubbish (putting it mildly) and at the time which is over a year ago I fought them tooth and nail to get them to acknowledge the issue over VAT, it is well documented on here - just do a search for my username.
Bluepark Solutions (http://www.bluepark.co.uk)is a very good alternative - it has very similar features to ISC/BC but the support is faultless.
I hope that helps. Hopefully they will sort out the VAT issue but time after time when I raised it I was told that it wasn't a fault in their system but how it was built and that it may be sorted out some time in the future - hopefully now it is scheduled for the next update but there have been several major updates in the past without it.
