Hi All,

Here at Netwise Hosting we are in the process of rolling out several new major updates across our entire service range and would like your advice.

New features include unlimited bandwidth, a new 'Ultimate' dedicated server and other consumer based improvements such as personal account managers and remote reboot ports, but we are stuck between several different marketing promotions to help launch these substantial additions.

As always would it be better to offer a lesser financial sum, such as the 3 Months Free promo, or go for a physical prize such as a chance to win an iPad?! The choice is yours guys so please vote for your favourite or suggest any other ideas that you think we should consider.

Hope your all well and thanks in advance for your time on this, I am looking forward to seeing the results.

Matthew

I would rather have the three months free than an entry into a competition.

I'd require 24/7 instant support but you didn't give that option.

Free ipods or whatever is a big turn-off for any serious customer in my opinion.

Would you not run backups anyway ?

Firstly, I have to strongly agree with your iPod comment. We simply included it as an existing customer had surprisingly mentioned it to us.
Secondly, 24/7 Support is supplied as standard with all packages Crossdaz. My original post lacks detail, but all of the key services on offer from standard can be seen on our website, http://www.netwisehosting.co.uk/ (http://www.netwisehosting.co.uk). Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

Would you not run backups anyway ?

Backups are offered in the form of a hardware RAID1 setup as standard (on all packages except Entry), which mirrors the content on the drives at a 1:1 ratio to prevent internal data loss.
Naturally, this is not a direct form of backup as such, more a measure of redundancy. However, during the orders process, you can add an online/off-site backup solution to your package, available at very reasonable prices, in a selection of sizes.
This promotion will add the online/off-site 100GB backup solution to your selected package for free. I hope this clears up your question.

Just as a suggestion, the Entry level should include RAID as an chargable option.
Also don't you do VPS? I think this would be better for you to have as some users don't need dedi but are too much for shared.
Also can I join as a Reseller and then refer myself thus giving me a 15% discount?

We take suggestions from any customer, and are more than happy to explore the creation of an entirely tailored solution if required.

If a customer contacts us directly with a problem and a specific set of requirements needed to fulfil their said problem, we will be more than happy to help in whatever way possible.

Naturally, we cannot offer every single combination of hardware configuration as a direct selection through the site, so the best bet for any required custom system(s) is to contact us and begin discussions.

Further to your added queries:

We do not offer VPS solutions at this time, but will likely explore the provision of such services in the future. We are currently focusing efforts on ensuring our dedicated server platforms, colocation services and online backup solutions offer the best possible total value to our customers.

You can indeed join as a Reseller, and receive a 15% commission based payment for any sales you direct our way. We are currently in the process of making a large number of changes to our site, as the recent launch of our new my.NetwiseHosting Customer Portal has changed the way customers interact with the site.
Because of this you may notice some statistical errors on the main site, which will be sorted shortly. In the mean while, allow me to direct you to the my.NetwiseHosting Customer Portal (http://my.netwisehosting.co.uk), through which you can sign up and activate yourself as an Affiliated Reseller.

Thanks.

It isn't really much. Just on the options where you have an X for not available, make it a chargeable option.

Hi again Sanjiv,

To keep our prices low and support calls to a minimum, we employ well balanced uniform hardware sets across our entire service range. This means our engineers are familiar with the hardware upon which their working as well as the ability to exchange any possible hardware failures near instantly.

Saying this, as briefly mentioned previously, we do offer custom server configurations for requirements that are outside of our catalogue. These can have anywhere between 1GB and 192GB of RAM and from RAID 1 all the way up to RAID 10. Please do get in contact with one of the team if you would like a custom proposal to be drawn up.

I hope this answers your questions and thanks for getting in contact.
Kind regards,

Matthew

P.S. Both the High-End and Ultimate packages include a backup package as standard. These along with the other servers can be upgraded to a higher storage capacity at any time.

I do not want a dedicated server from you. I am giving you feedback.

Same with backup. You should put chargable option since you do offer it as a chargable option just it is unclear.

Rather than special offers, I'd sort out your website. I might be being thick but I couldn't see how to order hosting directly from your website?

I was being thick, found it now.

Something doesn't make sense.

Your site is hosted with 1and1 but on your blog you state your building a DC > http://blog.netwisehosting.co.uk/netwise-hosting-new-data-centre-facility-part-1/

If you are offering colo / rack space it usually helps customers if you tell them where the DC is and show some pics and a proper spec. I can't see anywhere on your site which says where this London DC is.

Hi Sanjiv,

Apologies, I thought previously you had enquired about possibly reffering yourself as a reseller. Anyway, many thanks for the feedback, it is very much appreciated and we will look into changing the options on the main Servers page as you suggested.

Hi Brownie,

Glad you found how to order, do you think we need to change or add anything to make this more obvious? Thanks for your feedback.

Hi Dwebs,

I am struggling to see where the confusion lies. Yes, we have our own private Data Centre on the outskirts of London in Wallington, Surrey and yes our site is hosted with 1and1 from the early days.

I think your right in regards to the lack of facility detail, this is on our list to improve on the site along with photos and a more detailed specification. I will let you know once this has been done. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

Do you own / lease the building?

Hi All,

A quick update. Ok, so it is looking as though the Website needs a little attention in places, this is no problem and is the kind-of feedback we are always looking for, so thank you.

In regards to the Poll, although it is early days it seems as though you would rather have a discounted server rate then win something physical. We thought this may be most popular, but we have been running the 3 Months Free promotion for six months already so just wanted to 'spice things up' a little.

Thanks again for all your input and I look forward to receiving more feedback shortly.

Matthew

Not sure about the purchasing bit, I'll have another look later.

Just read your blog and your new DC capable of holding 1500 servers sounds impressive in this current economic climate, is this a building owned by yourselves?
