Here are some comments from someone who is not a techie:
1) What's your strategy? You write 'articles of distinction' yet you are striving to become the low-cost leader. These two statements seem incompatible.
2) I don't like the colour scheme; I find the purple two dark. In my opinion, you need some white on the screen.
3) The font for your 'striving' statement doesn't work. It doesn't seem very polished.
4) The final item in your bulletised list seems out of place, plus the line continuation doesn't indent properly.
5) The 'free delivery' banner seems a little unprofessional.
6) You highlight the fact that you only take PayPal; I would de-emphasize this.
7) You are missing apostrophes in the shop categories (e.g., it should be women's clothes).
8) Your terminology is inconsistent: you use the terms ladies and women.
9) You provide no company information, such as contact telephone number or email address. This will raise suspicions among your target audience.
10) Your writing style (e.g., on the Contact Us page) is too long-winded and deferential.
Please don't be discouraged by these comments. They are meant to be constructive criticism. Good luck moving forward.

I would also remove the animated graphics, standardise the fonts (reduce the different fonts) and maybe add some best sellers to the front page?
Theres loads more but one step at a time :)

Thank you so much for your time and comments. I am not taking them personally and actually, now that you have highlighted a few of the critical areas in need of attention....I can see what you mean!
Thank you once again, I will start to polish up the site and hopefully you may see a difference soon!

Hi Sue and welcome.
For what it's worth, I would not strive to be UK's 'cheapest' closthes shop. I would want to be the best 'budget' shop. So often the word 'cheapest' draws connotations of poor quality, which is never necessarily so, but it's a perception.

Hi,
wWelcome to the forum Sue.
Agree with Nigel....to add to it...if its the cheapest...people would be more apprehensive about buying online, due to concerns about quality. Do you have a money back guarantee, really increases peoples confidence in buying online?

I'd work on removing the overuse of white and alter the fonts to begin with

'budget' has negative connatations too... howzabout value?
Hi Sue, glad you made it!
Some great feedback above. To add to it (as if you don't now have enough on your plate!) I think the ecommerce system you are using is pretty bad. What is it?
I think a really good idea for you would be to have a completely new site designed from scratch. Do you have the budget to do this?
Before you say "no", get a few tentative quotes so you know what you are saying no to. It neednt be hughely expensive.

Thanks for all comments guys! Not as bad as I had anticipated but then you may just be holding back until I am a fully fledged frequent forum fiend! (Try saying that with a vodka or two inside of you)!!
Yes, I am regretting the site that I have chosen and no, I really don't have the funds at the moment to change. However, I will be putting this on my 'to do' list when I finally make some money from my site!
I am colouring the site a little and making radical changes......... watch this space and PLEASE feel free to comment, your advise is really appreciated.

I would try and get a nice logo created and use it across your marketing (business cards, letterheads..etc) along with your website. But it's not a bad site, I think it just needs tweaking here and there.
Not sure if you take credit/ debit cards (if so, I could not work it out) so maybe display the card logos. (Vias, Mastercard..etc)
