Hi All,

Hope everyone had a good weekend, I did a little search on google yesterday to see if my page could be foudn and was amazed that it came up for a couple of searches I thought it was a three month wait.

I noticed that the first line description I've made an error in, is it possible to go and change that original description as it's an error that could put me high er on the search listing, I'm fifth on front page so high woul dbe good.

Also can someone kindly explain, what are the basics of getting high er up listings, I know being mentioned on the front page whatever it is you want to be picked up is important, when people click your apge repeatedly from google does that place your link higher up the rankings. What additional things can I do to increase my listing on google get it higher up the results list.

Hi mate there are two things to keep in your mind if you are talking about Google Searches. First is Keywords and Description. Both things should match to your website. if you don't have any idea what type of keyword or description u required then try to search another similar website in Google go to view menu and click on source. there on the top u can check what short of description u required.

for Higher listing i would recommend you to make robot.txt which help you web spider to analyze your website.

Hi Uk2004.

The question you have asked is a vast field in itself. There are millions of things you can do to increase your rankings, and it is a never ending process, as once you are near the top competitors will always be trying to get past you again. Also being on top is not much helpful if people are not seraching for that keyword. Its better to be no. 20 for a keyword which is serached 10,000 times a month, rather than be no. 1 for a kyword which is serached 20 times a month. If you write "Search engine optimization" in google, and read articles on the topic, you will start understanding the basics of the process.

It can take years to master the process, but basic knowledge will help you come a long way. The more you read the better you get at this :) .

P.S: SEO can be a very boring and tedious process at times but in the long run may bring in good profits.

It picked it up from the description on your pages. Update your pages and the new description will get picked up when the pages are next crawled.
