The Hovercraft Museum Trust (http://hovercraft-museum.org/)'s principal trustee mentioned to me that he had difficulty updating their current website. Through my networking connections, I ran across an offer to create a Wordpress Blog and website for the winner of a vote.

As the HMT don't have permanent tenure at HMS Daedalus, they don't qualify for Lottery Funding - which most other Charities do. :(

Whilst the current website is functional, it's not all it could be, suffers from poor navigation and, crucially, fails to meet certain cross-browser "web standards". A Wordpress Blog and/or Site could well be the answer. A professionally designed website costs well into thousands of pounds - even for a micro site of a few pages - so therefore, they need every financial help they can get.

Please vote here (see panel on right): http://ow.ly/1wn1j

Original thread here: http://www.blogmistress.com/nominations-please-for-aprils-wordpress-winner/

On the first day of every month, the Blogmistress opens up a post in which YOU suggest an organisation, charity, or person that would really benefit from having a WordPress blog and/or website provided for them, including the hosting and their domain name.

Voting ends tonight! Thanks for your help.

Mark :)

Hey Mark

If it goes tits up and you want help setting up a custom design on a Wordpress site give me a shout. I've walked the walk on here long enough, probably about time I showed some folk how it's done.

As long as it's for charity I wouldn't mind spending a few hours a week over a month to get something up and running.

Still voted though - all the best!

Cheers for the offer. Let's see how this goes and perhaps I'll be in touch (had a few offers privately via PM too!) :)

Mark,

Do they currently pay for hosting? I could possibly help on that front...

Not sure on that. Will ask. :)

(Back tomorrow with revisions, btw. :))

Thanks Mark, look forward to hearing from you, call me if you need to chat :) and let me know about the hosting once you've asked....

Serif webplus X2 is a great tool and easy to use for a professional looking website. I think i paid about £30.00 from PC World.
