Hi
I've got a word doc that has our letterhead embedded in the header, allowing us to print to pdf on our stationery.
How can I edit this so the letterhead is on page 1 only?
I've split the doc into sections and deleted the image on page 2, but it deletes on all pages.
Thanks

Don't put it in the header! Just have it as the first pargraph on page one.
The alternative is to do as you have don't but change the header settings. Go to page-setup > layout > different first page header.

I'm in Word 2007 and can't find layout under the Page Setup tab... :|
Found it... but it deletes it off page one and sets it to all subsequent pages :D
I didn't design the original document so don't know how to set it in the first place.
Edit: I must have edited my last post not quoted to make a new one... I'm having one of those days I think! :D Mostly I said thanks, and that I was going to try your 2nd approach :)

...that's because you have a null 1st-page header (AND footer!); you need to apply your required heading to the first page then delete it from the second page.
This approach is very effective once it's been setup; what I often forget though is that amendments to the footer (eg references, date etc.) have to be replicated on page 2...!
(I have one of those days every day)

I've bodged it :D
copied page 2, pasted into page 1 with different first page checked, and deleted off page two.
Thanks for the help folks :)

Yep, except you click different first page and it deletes it from page 1, and leaves it on page 2, which is not the desired result! ;)
I love how logical Word is. Not. :)

Not sure about Word 2007 (I'm still on 2003) but I insert a "section break" at the end of page 1, you can then have different headers/footers for each section - there's a "link to previous" button on the header/footer toolbar which you can toggle on/off. This keeps your letterhead and logo on P1 only.
