I have just been an idiot!
Purchased this software (photostore) from Ktools for a client. Got Ktools to install the software on my dedicated server. It did not work.
Fine, these things happen. But when corresponding with Ktools they said the problem was 'session issues'. Very vague. Nothing more specific.
My hosting company then pointed out some issues within the software as to why it was not functioning correctly.
Result - my enquiry ticket closed with Ktools, no further technical advice provided, and refund refused.
Beware of such companies as Ktools.
I will not be as trusting again.

So take it forward. Don't just call it a day. If the software is not fit for purpose, chase them.

Yep stugster. I am doing that at present.
Its the first time I have come across a software provider with such a low concern for customer satisfaction.
I can only assume they are trying to force people like me onto their own servers.

I paid by PayPal.
They say "As stated in our User Agreement, the claims process only applies to the delivery of goods. It does not apply to complaints about the attributes or quality of goods received. Therefore, we are unable to reverse this transaction or issue a refund. "
Well, 2nd lesson learned!

If you paid by Paypal you are as good as guaranteed a refund. PP is renowned for siding with the customer regardless of the issue. Personally I would open a claim via PP, get your money back and put it down to experience. The retailer can then jump up and down but what are they going to do really....just tell them that they can come and collect their software at their convenience. Nobody wants to be unfair but if thats the route that they want to take then they can hardly expect you to behave differently to them. They set the standard after all :)

Hiya Andy,
We thought that was the process also.
But we did open a claim - and it was closed within 30 minutes.

Hmmm...well that has to be almost a first for PayPal! Can you not go back and ask why they have closed the claim as you do not consider it closed as it is not resolved?

OK Andy, we'll give it a try.
First time I've had to go through any sort of refund process with paypal.

I don't think Paypal allow 'item not as described' disputes on non-tangible goods, only 'item not recieved'.

This is not lawful. Under the long distance selling reg, you are entitle to a full refund even if you are not happy with the service within 7 days.
Did you pay for it uing your card or direct debit with Paypal. Either way talk to your bank to have the payment reversed as it is not fit for purpose.
What ever you do, dont give up.
