Hi,
Can anyone give me a brief description of what Linked In is and how to use it? Its the one social media site that I haven't yet braved. Also any tips and tricks etc would be really helpful.
Look forward to your responses. :|:)
Thanks

I can't comment on the overall ethos of Linkedin but I tend to use it to keep track of people who I have worked with in the past and it has bought me business by being able to re-establish my former contacts and (to coin a phrase) exploit those contacts to generate leads and gain new customers.

Much the same here. There are a good spread of groups for similar minded people which can be used for getting help or jobs or business (I'm in one of the Barcode ones which is a little slow but has included people selling new and second hand kit).
I get the impression it is also aimed as being a little more 'upmarket' or 'professional' than Facebook or suchlike and does not really cater to things like time-filler apps or pictures of cute kittens.

It allows you to establish links to contacts in your business network, grouped into classification like current colleagues, past colleagues, people you have worked with and similar.
Allows you to update everyone you are linked to with your current status, take part in discussion forums and similar.

It's actually pretty useful as it is business oriented, not family and friends like facebook.

Thanks guys.
If there is anyone who wouldn't mind my adding them as a contact just to help me get started I would really appreciate it.
