Hi all,

I am trying to upload my product to google base / shopping via Google Merchant Center and google keep disapproving my feed.

So i emailed them this is the response i get,

Hello,

Thank you for your email.

As of September 3rd 2009, individual sellers on marketplaces no longer
need to submit items to Google Product Search. Going forward, marketplaces
will be responsible for submitting a feed of all their sellers' items, so
we have retired your account in order to avoid duplicate entries on
Product Search. Your marketplace will also be responsible for ensuring
that your feeds are up-to-date and compliant with our policies.

In most cases, marketplaces already submit feeds of their sellers' items.
If you have any further questions about your items or Google Product
Search, please contact your marketplace. We look forward to continuing to
display your products, and hope you enjoy the new streamlined submission
process.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

The Google Team

can any one tell what this means and how to fix it.

regards
bobby

They are tellihng you that the shopping cart provider you use (I assume) are already uploading a feed, so you needn't duplicate it.

My shopping cart is custom built, so there is no others uploading my feeds

And to add to OWG's reply, many of these shopping comparison sites that use product data feeds actually crawl the internet and submit products to their databases without the owner even knowing, if this happens, you just need to claim your account on the site. I know ShopWiki is one of these that do that.

Ok lets try another angle then. do you have unique product ranges, or do you yourself aggregate product feeds? http://googlebase.blogspot.com/2009/09/new-policies-for-marketplaces.html .

I initially posted what I did as the reply clearly suggests you contact your marketplace. To what do you think Google are referring to here?

Didn't answer my quesion(s) sorry :(

is the store unique, or are you really pushing affiliate stuff, is it a cookie cutter store?

I asaked what YOU think Google are referring to when THEY mentioned this 'marketplace'?

I don't think I can make the questions any more clear than that. I can't work blindfold, it is up to you to let us know the real situation by answering the questions asked.

Cheers
