what is going on in the hosting world? something i haven't been kept in the loop with?
i host websites with three different host companies, for the last 5 years they've all been fine, but since christmas i've had nothing but nightmares with all three.
they just don't reply or answer questions, one website is down as they haven't assigned a server  i contact them by ticket and they just point to a page which explains what a server is!
another website won't let me upload files and says i need 'Administrator Access'
then transferring of domains & hosting is becoming a pain, instead of getting it done nice and quickly it can now take a week and half of my files disappear in the process which is a total pee take.
all three are now closed until monday, even though they clearly have problems with servers.
these aren't cheap foreign hosts either..they're UK hosts. GRRRR

Transferring domains/hosting to a new provider is painless, if you let the new host do all the hard work for you, no files should be lost.
Seriously switch providers; any decent host will have support 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.
Who are you currently hosted with?

Nope, didn't find anything except for a couple of likely fake questions and answers, and a lot of badly written English....!!!

Looking at your signature, I can be sure you will find them fake (for someone who hardly has any recommendation or reviews) . :) Anyway its upto Esk247 to decide things.

So "Fiona Davies" who asked a question about wordpress to which you immediately answered, has nothing to do with "Rachel Davies" who seems to be your live support chat person on your website.
Just a coincidence maybe.....

I have hosting with both vidahost (http://www.vidahost.com/) and hosted web (http://www.hostedweb.co.uk/) and can highly recommend both - never had any problems with either and have always had prompt and understandable support from both when I've needed to ask any questions.
I'm not affiliated to either - just a satisfied customer.
I did once have a hosting account with Telivo (now LCN I think?) and I couldn't recommend them - not a patch on the above two.

My responses are not questioning if your service is any good, your service may be second to none for all I know, but your statements that "most of this forums members are already using you." and that I could find many reviews of your services on "THIS" forum are simply false.

Now I really find you arguing like a kid :) . I am not sure what you are talking about, please verify the matter with Mods. And this forum is not for arguments, its better we stick to the subject.
Note : (Please verify your Doubts with mods)

Come on, chill :) They are based in UK, offering good service. I tried searching Google for feedback and couldnt find a single bad one, just happy people. If you dont like competitors, it doesnt mean you have to talk crap about them on public forum - its bad business ethics :)

Esk,
If you want good solid hosting without the arguing & sniping going on here, give me a shout.
Good prices, datacentres in Belfast & Gosport, plus as we're still small enough to care unlike some companies, you get the contact details (including mobiles!) of the people who matter. Plus we have a level of monitoring in place which allows us to see the rare faults coming & get to them before they become a problem...!
If you're interested let me know your requirements & I'll price something up for you.

Rob, All I originally pointed our was that webhostuk's comments were outrageously wrong, If I was to tell blatant lies about my business then I would expect to be called out for them, just like Apple would for M$ etc etc. If they can prove that the majority of forum members here are hosting with them as they say then I will shut up.

You must be talking about a different Hosting company than WEbHostUK. The owner lives nowhere near the UK - the only UK thing about WebHostUK is the physical location of the server.

Tons! There's probably more real UK hosts than those tiny kiddy hosts which say they're in the UK but use cheap services elsewhere - with the advent of cheap servers from the likes of Rapidswitch the days of needing to use non-UK hosting are over. Not that anyone sensible would anyway!

Wait, hang on. No we don't, we just supply quite a few *grins*
Aside from my blatant plug, that's a pretty bold claim you made there mate. Can you back that one up I wonder?

Offhand I'd probably say the longer-established members here would have more UKBF clients. We have quite a few but probably not as many as CSNM, but on other forums where I've been a member for a very long time a greater % of members host with us than here.
It's all about relationships, unless of course you simply want to spam your company at every opportunity as seems common on so many hosting forums (daren't even say the name but fellow hosts will know where I mean :p)

I'd agree completely with you. We have some "relationships" from here too. It's quite a giggle sometimes watching some people pounce on every slight chance like an eagle from a mile high spotting a skinny mouseling (if there is such a word) toddling along the ground.

Mr Sameer Kulkarni in India
That explains the broken English then. Wonder if Rachel Davies who seems to be their live chat person is really Rachel Davies or is it Mr Sameer Kulkarni in drag pretending to be an anglophile for the pretence that the business is not run from India? Or am I just being cynical?

Well let's be honest, nothing wrong with being run from India really.
Tech support calls would certainly make you feel like you were ringing the rest of the british companies like banks, building societies, computer manufacturers.....

Not at all. Daniel Smith seems to never sleep - for the past four days he's been on the site ready to talk to me from 7am up until 12midnight! Hardcore dedication or what ;)

Not at all, nothing wrong, we are not "totally" British ourselves, some of our team is in Italy and in Australia also (Although the Aussie is a ex-pom so maybe doesn't count). :)
