Any good? Pro's and cons?
I just downloaded their 12 day trial and at first, it seems really easy to use and very very useful indeed. How come it's so cheap?

Another fan here, and their training/support is pretty good too*:
Market Samurai Dojo (http://www.noblesamurai.com/dojo/marketsamurai)
(*Don't know if its any good for the experts, but for Newbs like me its a goldmine of info, presented in simple terms that make sense)

Yeah, it's good stugster; a lot of depth and best of all my SEO chappie hates me for knowing almost as much as he does.
The dojos are great too.

I know t&C! The information it gives is staggering.
In only a few days of using it, I've seen two of my keywords rank exceptionally well already.

I think Brent et Al were very badly advised when they started out - this could and should have been sold as a service in the $100 a month region
I use it every day of my life....
Doesnt alter the fact it is brilliant - and it will take you a long time to get to the limits of what it can do...it can even help write copy for affiliae offers!! by sucking it out of the web pages.
HOWEVER ,
The limitiations are in google data. Dont rely on the figyures 100% - they are indicative only. If you are investing in a serious project, double check with adwords, make sure the traffic is REALLY there before setting up sites....also cross check against known phrases in google insights.

I was looking at this - but to me site looks suspect - it's the superlong pages, but most the headline grabbing Save £168 etc, but I cannot see the ACTUAL price anywhere!
Even when you hit the purchase button, they ask for all the information, but do not list a price. Anyone know how much it is - am I being blind?

If you conduct manual search engine ranking checks, ensure you are logged out of your Google account.
To be extra safe, clear your browser cache.
To be extra extra safe, re-install your operating system, I'm sure Google can't spy on you then.

If you look down the full-version.php copy you see $149 full version, no subscription.
But if you sign up on the 30DC programme you get use of some of it? all of it? free for a period anyway.....and using it is a far better sales aid than that long letter... it sells itself.
As a user since the day it was born, I would happily pay that a month. They were not well advised to do it on a one time fee.

But thatt is the point of samurai...
A quick backlink analysis, tells you that most of your higher rank links are wasted on anchor text "gas angel heating" - and most of your links focus on "gas heating services" - a waste of time because of the lack of traffic even on UK basis.
You have a few links for "plumber newcastle" - a questionable phrase unless you target google local properly (hint - hire a virtual office at the exact centre that google thinks is newcastle....and get another listing for south shields on a different ( preferably keyword rich) domain and tel...(shhh...did I say that? oops...) - finally get directory listings and reviews and watch your rise on local...
And none of your links focus on "boiler installation" or "bathroom installation" which have enough traffic to get you some work!!!
That is the power of samurai

We use it and even (mostly) understand it - which let me tell you isn't a given in the legal profession, which is always years behind with technology! :)

I have just installed this.
Im getting well funny readings with the placement in google.
If i search my site: protectyourpiece.co.uk for a few keywords. one being, id sensation, i get told i rank number 5. If i then click it, it shows the page with top 10, and im not on there??
Also i noticed if i click the little g, it changes all the rank numbers about? whats that all about?
Cheers for advice

Thanks for the help, but i dont undertsand any of it:redface:, what is the point of samurai to tell you your ranked 16 when in actual fact your ranked numer 8?
plumber newcastle is one of my best performing words of the last 2 years, and ive spent most of that time at number 10-15.
I agree about the backlinks its something ive only just started doing but tbh im number 1 and 2 for "boiler installation newcastle" anyway, so donty really need any links, http://www.google.co.uk/webhp?hl=en#hl=en&q=boiler+installation+newcastle&meta=&aq=&aqi=&aql=&oq=boiler+installation+newcastle&gs_rfai=&fp=579125fd6573fbeb
plus i dont install bathrooms
my rankings are going well but theres still loads of room for improvement, like i say 90% of the rankintgs check on samurai was sopt on but there was a couple that were way out.
Thanks very much for the tip about maps, its much appreciated.

You are using an SEO tool you got from a website where prices are listed in dollars, which suggests that everything else by default is geared for the US market too, including the SEO tool and the results it displays.
If you google for your phrase with US localisation, either via google.us or with google.co.uk and using the &gl=us (http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=1180804) localisation parameter, you will see that your website is on page 2, in line with what the SEO tool reports.
Here is some advice that applies not just to SEO tools, but to SEO books, or other SEO advice you might read on the web...
if it comes from a US source, then you should assume that by default it is geared toward the US market, and therefore you should adapt, make allowances (in some cases ignore some advice) or change defaults appropriately (as in the case of tools).
In the case of Market Samurai, when setting up a project don't accept the "all countries and territories" default project region setting, but change it to "UK" (and even then be careful).
Any good? Pro's and cons?
When using any SEO tool, also consider:
1. google do not like you using automated rank checking tools (http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35769) (quality guidelines - basic principles section, fourth bullet point),
2. the tools get their information from sources which may or may not be available in the future (e.g. yahoo site explorer (http://searchengineland.com/bing-yahoo-discussing-future-of-yahoo-site-explorer-37408), or google might obfuscate (http://www.seo4uk.com/home/seo_articles/google_click_monitoring) its results even more or ban access from such tools, which is why the Market Samurai terms state that it makes no warranties for the tool working or being fit for purpose in the future, section 6.1 (http://www.marketsamurai.com/eula.php) of their terms)
3. the effect of using such tools has on adwords stats (exaggerating (http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=1140679) them).

If you guys arent aware...a tool called "domainsamurai" now complements "marketsamurai" to find keyword rich domains, which hijacks the results from domainface - a recent creation by a UK group of marketers.

Great piece of software indeed! I downloaded the trial last night and have found some very interesting facts. I do have one question though...
I noticed on the 30daychallenge youtube vids that there was a ban risk monitor at the top of the software. That doesn't seem to be on my copy. Is this a real problem in using the software and if google doesn't like it, what do they ban? IP address, google login?
Cheers
