Hi,
I hope you can help, I need UK postcode data in txt file. Has anybody had any experience with this and who would you recommend?
I phoned a company this morning and they quoted me £1500 a year!
Is it really that expensive?

What do you need it for.

We use AFD whch give an address from postcode, I think its about £200 per year, but I dont think it gives you a postcode list.

I also have a free postcode list with grid references, but only the the first 3/4 letters of the post code (if that helps)

I need to find out the distance between 2 postcodes, I have the mathematical function for distance (latitude and longitude)
Hope that helps

If you dont need it too accurate, my free list may be perfect.

It comes with disclaimers, ie some of it may be wrong, or postcodes missing and only has the first few digits.

But its perfect for store locator type functions, pm me your email and I will send through

Top Hat, that is really very generous of you - thankyou :D

Can you tell us what the figures in column A and B are though (is it something to do with population per postcode area, or am I being a complete muppet?)

Anyway, three cheers for Top Hat (hip hip)

ok, thanks for the explanation!

Does anyone have any data on UK population or households per postcode area/district?

I need to divide the UK up into equal portions. I've a feeling that the reference library may have some records, but I'm not sure

thanks everyone

Thanks for your help Top Hat.

I'm affraid it's not going to be enough for a proper postcode search. I need the complete database with full names. Also, the coordinates are not precise enough for calculations.

But again appreciate your help.

Thanks

Brad
