how about moving the into thread to the bottom of the page...people must read that and think "hey, it's spam central here" especially with 'top of the forum exposure'

I think intros need to come first, but I agree they are an ideal opportunity for spam. Could the intro thread not be a check box submission, where people dont have a choice in what they say it just gives options for name, company, website, location or somethign like that. That way it would stop those coming on who just say Hi, buy my stuff please and never come back.

One thing I would suggest, thinking about Claire's check box thing, is that they say how they heard this site so that the mods can guage how effective their advertising is. Ooooo Nigel I need to PM you :lol:, by the way!
