I was having a nosey on Crossguards site, just to see what he did. I found out he created the Freelander name for Landrover.
Therefore my car is named Freelander because of Philip, you never really thing of who names these things and I found this interesting.
Any more member hidden interesting facts, please post here.

So, our office is in a small town and I have a house there too so no huskies needed to go to the shops. Well there are only the essential shops :
1 Off licence
1 Somerfields
1 Chemist
1 Shoe shop
2 Bakers
2 Newspaper Shops
1 Cafe
1 Florist
1 Chinese Restaurant
2 Chinese Takeaways
2 Chip Shops
1 Petrol Station

I left home (my parents) to live on my own for the first time, only I did it by buying a one-way ticket to Melbourne and going on my own with £500. Didn't know anyone there either. Stayed for a year and came back because of my visa. Whilst there amongst other jobs, I worked on Thursday Island (not recommended at all!) and sold art pretending I'd painted it (not my ideal job, but I couldn't eat pasta and brown sauce any longer!!!)
I went on holiday to Cuba and came back with a husband (huge error), must have been rum.
I have now settled down to a happy marriage (2nd), family and a business. Hopefully having curbed my silliness!! lol

Can I join in...got a few experiences to tell....
Driving along rocky side of mountain in Iraq with Parents when our car fell off the side!!! Tumbled over 3 times before stopping...my leg was stuck in the car radio but all else was fine :!: I was 18months old....so was not the driver!!!
Another Iraq one : My parents got lost driving in Baghdad once. They stopped 'cos they found a lovely place to have a picnic but found themselves confronted by two soldiers pointing a gun at them. Told to get their IDs out and to come with them (!)...daddy dear went to the car and had a brainwave idea...started shouting at them and told them who the **** they were and to give him their names and addresses....guards thought he must be from a higher ranking group within Saddam's clan and so got scared and let my parents go. Turned out the area they stopped in was in the vicinity of one of the palaces.

So your interesting fact is.....
Steve is a world class chess player :D
Jayne
Nope. I was 15 at the time. Tony Miles played the top 60 junior players from Devon and Cornwall - at the same time. He beat 55 players (including me), drew four games, and lost just one.
I did once beat one of the top 10 women players in the UK in a lightning chess tournament. Statistically, she was likely to lose some games, and this one just happened to be against me.

I love chess, but am not that good at it, I just play for fun when my niece comes down. I had know-one else to play with, so learned her how to play. She cheats and I let her, she doesn't like to loose, therefore she always wins me

I have a bit of a heights obsession. I'm one of those odd people who like them.
So far I've done a bungee jump (never again), a 300ft long 100ft high zipwire over a lake, abseiled down a multi-story carpark (lots of fun) and did a solo parachute jump last year (fantastic; I want to take it up as a sport when I have the time and money). They were all charity fundraisers except the bungee and I haven't got anything planned yet for this year...my friends say I've got to go up in the space shuttle next! Yes please Mr. Branson...

Hi Jacqui
Sorry, missed your last post.
Hi Ray,
Are you from Inverness ? We could have a Highlanders UKBF meeting ??!!! lol...
Lived on The Black Isle for a very long time and played table tennis every week in Invergordon Cromlet Club which you'll know well. Moved now to Derbyshire as I had too many problems selling seo to the Highlanders (you know what Highlanders are like when asked to part with their money)
You're in a very nice part of the world there, lucky you :-)

Hi Ray
Are you trying to say that Highlanders are tight ? Surely not !!!
I take you are not a Highlander yourself !! That sort of speak up here will get you into trouble.
With Inverness now being the fastest growing coty in the UK most businesses are now waking up to the fact that they have to move with the times and stay one step ahead of their competitors. Which as you know was not always the case up here ! Its a lot better than it was and long may this growth continue.
Jacqui :D

Hi again Jacqui
Yep, Inverness was nice before it got city status but has, and is changing very fast and I think for the better too.
I'm not a Highlander but the culture difference is extremely obvious and for the most part very pleasant to live with. It's a very nice and beautiful area of Scotland to live in as well as the far more relaxed pace of time that comes with it. :-)
