Hey all,

As part of my ongoing effort to get to page 1 for the term 'funky mirrors' - page 9 to page 3 so far, I have been adding valid backlinks to my site

In January, I sent a few products to a reviewer, who i'm pleased to say gave us a very nice write up. A back link was provided with a few more links then coming from other big sites... well, big sites relative to what I sell :)

However, these links are not being registered by google. So, my quick question is can you point google in the direction of these links?

Thanks in advance

Ben

If google isn't indexing these pages then it's probably because they conside that the page isn't authoratitive enough to index and cache.

You could either, concentrate on links from other sites, or preferably make the page that is linking to you 'more' authoratitive by getting links to that page from other sites.

If you have a sitemap you can ensure the links are included in it and ping the sitemap to Google by navigating to the below URL

www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ping?sitemap=http://www.example.com/sitemap.gz

Replacing "http://www.example.com/sitemap.gz" with the path to your sitemap.

Not really, if Google dont see them then they may not value them, hence why they are not showing

I see a total of 89 links pointing at your site which is not a real big and not really any good...

yahoo shows a lot of your links

Im no expert but i would get a little Seo done from one of the pros on here, youll hit page 1 in no time as there is not really a lot of competition

Plus dont expect too much traffic from that key word as there are only 4400 Global searches per month

have a search on the google adwords tool and look at what keyword may bring you traffic in

Thanks for the replies :)

I agree with what your saying about the choice of keyword, but I was trying for the term bathroom mirror at one point but figured the word was far too saturated meaning I would never get anywhere.

Funky mirror may only have 4000 searches a month, but from what I've seen, when somebody searches for that, they are more likely to make a purchase than those people who visit using the word bathroom mirror. Someone on here (a clever chap) told me that I wasnt really selling bathroom mirrors so when somebody arrived on my page, they would probably just press back straight away.

I've got a site map, but have to admit I've never really understood them. Its generated by a program I bought called Inspyder Sitemap creator and I dont think there is a way of adding links like you suggest. Any guides you can think of?

Also, the 2 links that I'm thinking about are from sites with page ranks of 2 and 6.. not bad right?

Where can I get prices for SEO from the people on here?

Cheers

Sitemaps were always a mystery to me too.

I have 45,000 links to my web page Google only sees 66 of them as most are crappy Directory links and such they also include loads of Page rank 8, 7 and 6 but if Google dont think their worthy then thens nothing you can do

Have you tried putting some articles on your own site if their good enough people will link to them Google loves relavant content

Have a search for a company that will do a link package as im sure with a few decent links you will hit that first page.

However, these links are not being registered by google.Sorry, just to clear this up, when you say 'not registered' do you mean that they're not showing up for a link:domain query, or the pages that the links are on are not being indexed and cached?

If if's the former then that's completely normal, Google don't show anywhere like the number of links that they know about for a linkdomain query, but that's not to say that the links aren't being factored in to your ranking. If you want a clearer idea of you links from Google signup ro webmaster tools and get a link report from there.
