View Full Version : Increasing our volumes + reducing courier rates

After outsourcing our order fulfilment for a couple of years, we've now grown sufficiently and just moved into a small new office in west london!

As I am already paying rent on it and have some space left, as well as a professional picker/ packer, I thought it might be worth working with a couple of other online shops - storing their stuff here and doing their order fulfilment, thus taking advantage of increased volumes + reduced courier rates.

Would anyone on here be interested? We would ideally be looking for smaller shops with a maximum of 5 orders per day and only a few product lines (as we wouldn't want to be distracted too much from our core business). We wouldn't charge for fulfilment, just a small storage fee and the cost of the couriers of course. We currently use Interlink Express and already have some great rates with them but we can hopefully get them reduced even further this way. Please PM me if you think you might be interested.

Thanks!
Katie

To be honest, if somebody's only taking five orders a day then a) Are they making enough money and b) Why not do it from home?

Not trying to be negative more practical.

yeah I see what you mean... it is a long shot but maybe someone sells stuff that is too bulky to store at home and they're currently being stored at a safestore unit or something which is really expensive or someone that would love to outsource fulfilment so that they have more time to spend on marketing but wouldn't want to pay for it...

Regarding profitability, I guess it depends on the value of the items?!

Hate to say this but would you not be better off concentrating on taking the Mothers Day banner off of your hompage? :)
