Hi,
I have just read YEM magazine and for all you business reading fans, it's a good one for you. Lots of in-depth articles on business people, also help with self assessment (that was good) and how to sack someone without getting in trouble :D Lots of helpful stuff in it, i'm waiting for the Yorkshire version to come out
My most favorite bit, was Silly Jokes, I really enjoyed that page and you get to see what Caroline looks like, very bonnie lass with a really friendly face, i'm no longer scared of Silly Jokes, she looks too nice to be horrible to anyone  (Only kidding Caroline about the horrible bit)
The mag is professional and well written, well worth three quid :D

It's a real mag, with shiny cover and everything, mine came in the post yesterday afternoon, but it took a while to read it all. I've still got some bits to read yet :D

Gaaaa! no one must see me! I must buy and destroy all copies.
I have to admit getting that picture done has been quite useful though. It has been used by about 5 different publications so its nice ot have something you are not too shamed of to send out.
It was great to be featured in YEM, and the rest of it was good reading too.

You looked really nice in it Caroline, you should put it on as your avatar. I think you should have a regular spot in the mag, a fun business section to plug all your jokes and Cheer everyone up :D

Forgive me for being stupid - is YEM available in newsagents? Or is a free trial available?
Feel free to PM me.

Hi,
YEM is available subscription only (www.ye-mag.co.uk) - back issues are available at £3.95 (inc p&p) per issue, but you will need to contact the office for more information issues@ye-mag.co.uk
Unfortunately, we haven't got our online payment system updated yet so it's ye old cheque in post system. We are currently working on this and hope to have it online VERY soon

Without wanting to sound negative:
Have you ever thought of some kind of incentive to attract new readers? Take the case of me. I'm interested in the magazine, and if it was in a newsagent I'd pick it up and probably give it a punt for the £4 or so it costs. But to get my chequebook, write it out, get a stamp, and envelope and then write out a cheque for the magazine plus a postage cost - just to get a back copy (therefore out of date) - I probably won't.
I understand the difficulties of small publications - because I read quite a few of them from different spheres - so please don't think I'm being overly critical. A publication I read about NUFC (howay the lads!) is The Mag - an independent fanzine. To attract new readers they give you a back copy free. ie. If you want to try the mag out - send an email to [address] for a back copy. They obviously write off the costs of envelopes/ postage in the trade off from connecting to more potential customers...
Please don't think I'm sounding too negative.
Mark

Hi,
I don't think you are sounding negative. We did give out free copies when we launched and we attend a number of business exhibitions where people can pick up the latest issue for free.
As you can appreciate, we could only do this for a certain period of time, it is a high quality glossy magazine and obviously to keep sending out free copies isn't financially viable.
The magazine is a regional magazine and therefore it exists in many places across the region (Lancashire & Greater Manchester at present, but will be Northwest) including business support agencies and some business centres
