although not done as a new years resolution i joined a gym last week and have had two sessions with a trainer so far and they have broken me!!!!
i have used muscles that i didnt know i had!
i am now in so much pain - i am struggling to keep the laptop on my knee as there is not enough strength left in my arms
i am determined not to quit but if i stop posting it means that my trainer has actually killed me

Good for you UKSBC.
I have the same feeling in my legs right now !! Ive run 3 miles per day over the last 3 days. Which isnt a lot but I havent been running for a while so its really tough !!
Hot bath or shower before bed usually does the trick.

Me and Mark are going to start exercising, but cannot agree how we are going to do it. Don't like gyms or swimming and he doesn't like running?

Well get bikes or go for long walks. You burn just as many calories walking than running they say.

i am not usually a fan of gyms but i have no willpower at all
if i dont have someone there forcing me to do it i will only last a week!
they have got me working my upper body and my arms are soooo dead
i am not into running as i have artheritis in both knees
my usual excersise consists of walking from the door to the car and the car to the door (oh and a fag when i get in the car!)
i gave up drinking alcohol about 9 months ago and figured i better take the next step though. aim to give up the fags later this year (not yet though) i have cut down from 60 per day to 30 though
i am so unhealthy

We go walking lots anyway. Bikes, we have them and he drives me up the wall, he's very competitive and goes too fast and I cannot keep up and that spoils it.
Plus the seat is uncomfortable on Marks bike, he says he need cushions :)

We cannot do anything that's competitive, we did squash once and he nearly killed me, plus I ended up with a big bruise on my leg, because he hits the ball too hard.
Think we will have to walk more, we get on ok walking

Mhhhhh a sport that is not competitive, doesnt involve bicycle seats or any kind of ball........
Not many to choose from then ! Skating. Thats it, go skating. Roller or ice skating.

Poof! Walking is even more boring than graphic designing! :)
Buy yourself a bike and go for a half hour spin around the park. While you're out, buy a cricket ball. Then when you get back, watch Shane Warne, Freddie Flintoff, Shoab Achtar or someone, then swing and spin your cricket ball across the back garden.
You'll get awesome fun and satisfaction out of this, and your friends will be amazed at your skill, especially when you smash in the head of next door's cat!
Now that's what I call worthy exercise!

There's probably a European Law against Gyms you know. Well if there isn't, there should be.
(And why don't you use 'an' before European...? What's the law on that...?)

I have a bike and also used to play Cricket with the lads, I also liked to play basket ball, net ball, hockey, but these are not sports you can do alone and not many women around here are interested in getting teams up :D
Walking is great to work out, put a ruck sack on with a flask in it, get some hicking boots and get lost in the Yorkshire Dales. Great fun :D
