Bookmarks exchange/ Other sites

All,

Something I do with friends/ colleagues etc is to swap bookmarks. I feel this gives an insight into how the mind of the person works, and also it is a very interesting way to find out about different sites. Some people find this too intrusive (I edit mine to take out bank/ private bookmarks) - so they feel it better to just list other websites that they look at on a regular basis - business ones and non-business...

I save loads of sites, filled up aol and IE, I save all sorts, but not competitors, I only save interesting and fun stuff :D

I just thought sharing that gives an indications of ones interests, business links etc It can be quite interesting - but like I say you can only give the ones you feel suitable.

It is possible to export the favourites as a html file... does the board allow attachments?

I dont think the board allows attatchments. As far as I know IE favs cant be exported as an html page by default. Firefox you can.

You can export IE favorites

On a IE window, go to FILE/ IMPORT & EXPORT then follow the wizard. This exports to an HTML page (web page)

You are at work I take it. There are other ways but you will either not be able to do those because of restrictions, or it may get you into trouble!

You should still be able to export favs as a limited user. What happens ?

ok i think you maybe went to "import" ? hers the steps you need to take - looks a long list but isnt really many clicks.

Export favorites (2nd option down)

Ensure "favorites" folder is selected (should be selected by default)

it will then ask where to save it, if you DONT click browse, it will save in you "My documents" as a file called "bookamars.htm"

Finish
