You can't change it within the program, you have a few options as follows:
a) Send the data to Sage to get them to change the date. Sage charge around £249 for this service with a turnaround of 24 hours.
b) As a much cheaper, and quicker, alternative I offer a service to make the change (although this depends on you using v11 or above) - send me a PM if you want more details.
c) Finally, you could export all of your data, rebuild the data to remove all transactions, change the date and then import transactions again although this option is by far the most complex and should only be attempted if you have very few transactions and know exactly what you are doing.

Jaya,
If your year end month is correct but it is just the year you have got incorect then you can fix this yourself.
For example if your year end in Sage now is from April 2005 to March 2006, and you have entered all your transactions dated 2009 - 2010; and you want the current year to run from April 2009 to March 2010; then you can follow the Sage year end procedure 4 times in a row, and your data will not be affected, in order to catch Sage up with the correct year.
This is a copy and paste from the Help text - you can hit the F1 key once you have done step 3 to bring up your own help text to guide you through.
To run your year end 1. Take two back up copies of your data.
2. Make sure that:
http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/../../image/purple_bullet.jpg You have run all the reports you require.
http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/../../image/purple_bullet.jpg Your system date is the same as your year end date.
http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/../../image/purple_bullet.jpg You have checked your Chart of Accounts.
3. From the Sage 50 Accounts menu bar, select Tools > Period End > Year End.
The Year End window appears.
When you run the year end option, your program automatically resets to zero the balances of all your profit and loss nominal accounts for your new financial year.
4. If you budget using nominal accounts and departments and want the software to set up budget figures for the coming year, select the Nominal & Departmental Budgets Copy Current Year Budgets option.
Choose the figures you want the software to use. To increase or decrease those values, enter a percentage change in the Percentage Change box.
5. If you budget against your product records and want the software to set up budget figures for the coming year select the Stock Budgets Copy Current Year Budgets option.
Choose the figures you want the software to use. To increase or decrease those values, enter a percentage change in the Percentage Change box.
6. In the Year End Journals Date box, enter the date you want on your year end journals. Your financial year end date appears here automatically but you can change this if you want.
Use the Calendar to select the date you require.
7. A Year End updated Audit Trail report is produced for the year end postings. Select from the Output area the type of output you require: Printer (http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/../../Reports_&_Printing/SFWPRINTING.htm) or File (http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/../../Reports_&_Printing/SFWFILES.htm).
8. If you want to archive the closing year's data, select the Archive Company Data before Year End check box.
9. To carry out the year-end procedure, click OK. To exit without running the year end procedure, click Cancel.
A confirmation message appears.
10. To continue with your year-end click Yes, or to cancel click No.
You are now ready to complete the Year End process.
Alternatively I too can offer a change of year end service, where I just charge for the time taken to change the data over for you. My company is www.siliconbullet.com.
