Can I have your comments on my new shop please?

Looks ok, not anything special though. To be honest the website doesn't look very professionally made. Theres an awful lot that could be done with it to make it a better showcase of your works.

Please let me know if your on the lookout for site designers.

Claire

Why dont you do PE bags for kids? Loads of little girls like Winnie the Pooh. It would be great if you promoted your Pooh designs and say personalised them. I think they would be a big hit, as well as personalised mugs etc. I know one little girl already who is MAD on Tigger, just add a bit of glitter and you will be laughing.

Hmm Disney may have something to say about that Nic.

Good idea Nic, but I'm not into that, it would make my stuff too craft fair like.

Ewan, I'm quite happy with my site thanks. I know it needs some work and ideas that you can give me are appreciated but I will be doing the work myself.

A simple (free) template could be used and would really help the site look better.

To be honest claire. I think it looks fine. It isn't super dooper flashy, but does it really need to be?

You're doing so well anyway, it shows you don't have to have an all-singing, all-dancing website to make yourself known!

Hope you're well, put one of those Clarice bags on hold for me will you?!

Cheers Lu, as I said I'm quite happy with it. The only things I want to tweak in the future are my menu and logo.
I'll let you know whaen the bags are ready, or you can have any picture you like on them for the same price.

I think with all these new pages and stuff your selling you really need to start driving some traffic to the site.

With most sites there's always room for improvement and there's time too, clearly now isn't the time and the site is at a point where it can accomodate visitors nicely.

Once you've got some dosh under your belt then it might be the time. Till then just need visitors, visitors and more visitors (other than forum members) :)

Hi Claire,

I know you say you're happy with the site. But you're not the potential customer. If you are hoping to generate some online sales then I really do think you should look at having your site re-designed to look better.

Just my tuppence worth!

Besides the design issues, i think the shopping cart system you have is nice and simple. It's not brilliant by any means but it's certainly idiot proof I think.

Well done Claire. You've come ahead in leaps and bounds since you joined UKBF

Guys no offence, but I do get traffic to my site other than UKBF members. I make at least one or two sales a week, so I'm obviously doing something right. Besides the shops are just an extra earner. My main money comes from commissions of which most are gained from recommendation and not through the site. The reason my products are only Clarice Cliff is so they will sell to collectors via eBay. But for thise in the know they are cheaper from me directly!

Rob

Could have a point there.

Have you checked out copyright etc Claire?

I used to work with a guy who made absolutely brilliant life size cut-outs in plywood etc of Disney characters.

He set up his own business after it really began to take off, and was just about to 'throw his hand in' with his full time employ, when....he was threatened with infringement and had to pack it all in

I dont do Disney paintings, so I'm not worried. The tigger one I sold on here for charity was a 5 year old painting that I did as a one off and the Eeyore one was supposed to be a favour for Andrew 2010, who incidentilly ripped me off and never paid me.

Without getting harsh here guys, I am an abstract artist who also speialises in Clarice Cliff and corporate art works. Can you please just tell me what you think of my shop?

Hi Claire

I think the site works really well. One small thing is that the wedding pebbles could be moved up a bit in the menu so they go with all of the other things you can by. They seem to be with the info items at the moment.

Cheers

Becky :)

I need to look at the menu in general Becky. I'd like some nice buttons and possibly one button for gallery that when hovered over shows the 5 available. The same thing for the shop that would say pebbles, products and art. If I can get that done it will bring the menu up a bit and raise my newsletter box too.

Thanks sounds like a great structure. I think the buttons will be a really nice touch too.
