Hi there

Has anyone ever looked into offering their customers a branded credit card?

I know you can get a Man Utd credit card or indeed tesco credit card etc. but how many customers do you need to have before barclay card or or similar company would produce cards with your company logo on to offer to your customers?

Sorry if i didn't explain this too well. In short we have about 1500 members who play in our footy leagues each week and i wondered if that is enough to start approaching a credit card supplier? Or do you think the numbers have to be much higher?

Cheers

I would think you need to have major major numbers and funding before any credit card company would take you seriously.

Best people to ask are VISA and MASTERCARD.

For instance, to offer your customers Direct Debit you have to have a turnover of at least £1m and 250 customers. I imagine credit card would be more strict.

However, your involvement would merely be branding as you would not be providing the credit but nevertheless they will have a strict criterion, including how you market the card etc

Some Universities have 'branded' Visa cards, as does the MG Car Club. They're sometimes ordering only 500 at a time, which suggests a high clientele may not neccessarily be required, although a minimal quantity premium would certainly apply!
