You shouldn't build up back links quickly, start with 15 links a day and work from there, then maybe after 6 months increase this to 20 links a day, it needs to look natural for the best results.

Write quality content, find relevant 'brothers in trade' who may want to link back to you...for example, you might sell the widgets but the brother in trade may well sell the widget paint?

there are no short cuts that will stand the test of time....

I agree! Google and other search engines gives more value on the quality of inbound links compared to those irrelevant sites that you are getting.

There are other things to do but thats expert stuff using meta search engines and other advanced techniques, but the above should help you if you know what you are doing.

Government backlinks have more authority than your average link and quality over quantity is king, although saying that I do have a database of over 11,000 .gov and .edu link possibilities i have built up over the years at my disposal as one of my many things i use for my own clients. Things like this are good assets to have.

I do sometimes sell this list though when people ask provided i know they won't spam.
