hello, we are in the early stages of setting up our online gift company, we are following the eco friendly route by trading online only, using only organic, fair trade or recyclable products and materials. we will be offering two different types of delivery- standard and eco friendly and also will (hopefully) be incorporating some kind of scheme to either enable customers to add an optional donation to a charity at checkout (rather the same as ebay)

the real problem we are having is finding information to guide us in the right direction for following guidelines wether they e formal government guidelines/initiatives or just ethical options, most i have come across focus on large businesses, which of course we intend to be but considering we are not even trading yet; this will be some time!

i am struggling to get my head around the carbon offset schemes with the limited and general idea of costs and suppliers we have at the moment and was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction interms of information we could use to base our company values around.

we need to consider this right from the word go as our whole business will be based around it. i hope i have come across the right way and would appreciate any information anyone can give me even if it is a useful link.

many thanks
