Hi all,

I have the opportunity to do a bungee jump for charity, well its not a bunjee JUMP as such, its where you sit in a big ball thing attatched to a bungee and get catapulted up in the air. This is something I wouldnt mind doing anyway, my girlfriend also. What we have to do is raise £50 (per person doing the "jump") for charity. It is being held at a local pub/restaurant.
After I agreed to do it, I thought - hang on, great advertising idea, put on sweatshrt with logo, maybe even get the name on the back in big letters, and hand out flyers as well, my question is, is itethical advertising at a charity event?
All opinions welcome

Hiya Calv

You see it all the time. I mean when they give the cheques into Children in Need on TV the logo on each cheque is HUGE !! So that they get a bit of an ad in too.

Its the same when we see people running marathons on TV. They often have t-shirts with the company name etc...

Why dont you do something like :

JBS Contruction ( Put your company name there )
Supports
.....Then the name of the charity

I went handgliding for charity once. Never again..... ''

Advertising it is then !
Apart from my girlfriend and myself wearing sweatshirts with the logo on, handing out flyers, and possibly a banner, any other suggestions (not too expensive ones lol) I'm not sure if there will be any local newspapers or anything there or just a crowd, but the venue is pretty close to the premises I'm trading from, and it would at least get the name seen.

Thanks

Nic pole danced nude in the town centre to advertise once, maybe that's worth trying for you

Lots of publicity if you ring the paper.

I can just imagine, "yeah that computer guy is great, you know, the one with the [insert your own thoughts here]"

I wont even mention your suggestion to the girlfriend or it will be "you know, the bloke that had the shiner" :)

Ok how about this
hand out flyers with "10% or 20% goes to this charity" on them ? Surely I'll get permission to hand them out in that case?
