I was just wondering, what would people recommend as the best option for the following. I need to register quite a few (5+) domains, (all the extensions, .com, .net, .biz, etc) and have them pointing all to the one domain. Basically, what is the best and cheapest option for this, that would be advert free?
Any advice/offers would be appreciated.
Thanks

I use http://www.easily.co.uk and http://www.1and1.co.uk for most of my domain names.

I tend to use www.34sp.com for this sort of thing. They're not the cheapest by any means (probably, godaddy.com would be a good bit cheaper), but if you're then going to need hosting, 34sp have some really good and cheap hosting packages.

As a professional web design company I would of thought you would have a reseller hosting package with great deals on domains?
There are people on this list who I’m sure can help you out try Tony at vs hosting.
If you don't want to go down that route then I understand that 1nad1 as recommended by John are very reasonable.

Thanks for all the recommendations, I'll have a good look through them all.

I'm ok for hosting as far as webspace is concerned, it's just my current host won't let me host all the domains I'm looking at under the one account without a significant price increase. But I'll have a look at 34sp, thanks.

As a relatively new company, I don't want to be paying out for a reseller hosting package if I don't have the clients to back up the cost. But it is something that I will get as soon as things take off.
I am just looking for a short term solution because I need to register a lot of domains soon for the one site, and have them all pointing at the same place. It's to stop similar domain names being snapped up.
Cheers again for the help, if anyone else has any more recommendations, please let me know
Thanks!

There is a school of thought which says you need to be a bit careful how you do this "pointing", otherwise Google may think you are running multiple sites with the same content.

We use UKReg - used to use 34sp.com but there are hidden charges when coming away because you actually register with Easyspace, whom I loathe so much!
We have our own dedicated server located in Bedford and set up several domains to one account. Much cheaper for us compared with hosting with Fasthosts.
We don't host too many sites so if you want performance, we can do a deal with you.

You really should get yourself, at very minimum, a reseller account. It should only cost about £30 a month, so once you've got 4 or 5 client sites running on your account it effectively pays for itself.
I use Heart Internet (http://www.heartinternet.co.uk/) who do an excellent reseller package offering hosting of unlimited* domains, all under one account.
*Before someone starts flaming about there's no such things as unlimited, I'd just like to say I've never found any limitations with any of the claims made by Heart Internet.

Easyspace...
I agree with you on that one, but sadly I am stuck with them for quite a while due to a few domain names that I still have registered with them.
However, I set up my own wholesale domain account with http://www.irrp.net/ Okay I had to forward $150 to front the account but the .com and .net etc are very cheap...however I buy .co.uk etc from UKREG - can't be beaten on price for UK names.
As for hosting I use a reseller account from http://www.e3servers.com
My clients get the benefits alround and I'm happy to provide a service with a very good customer care...unlike some who we may loathe?!!

We have a number of domains pointing to www.theshoppersbible.com with 301 redirects. Even so, I'm going to assign them to a virtual host and again force a 301 to ensure we are free for the Google trap of duplicate content!!!
BTW I mange our own domains along with the DNS and Nameservers though dotRegister.com (.co.uk through Easyspace)

Easyspace...
God, don't talk to me about Easyspace.
UKREG - can't be beaten on price for UK names.
Actually for .uk domains (2 years) Heart charge £5.18 compared to £5.90 at UKReg and for .com domains (1 Year) Heart charge £7.99 compared to UKReg £8.89 ;)
