Just a quick question for those accountants who also do payroll, do you use P11d software (if so, what product) or do you produce them manually?
We have always done ours manually...but may opt for software this time if we can find a reasonably priced, easy to use, reliable product!!

I just changed from SageP11D to moneysoft payroll which includes payroll, p11d and cis.
For single company with 50 employees, sage wanted £165 + vat for renewal. So ditched the sage and bought moneysoft for £99+ vat. I have not started using it yet. But I am sure it would be easier than sage.

We've got P11d functions within our Drummohr tax software but switched over to using Moneysoft for P11ds because we can file online.
One hint - set up the P11d benefits such as cars now, so that they are there when the payroll year end is run! You can set them up later, but then you'll have to re-do that in the current year's file. If you are really slow on the uptake, that might happen to you twice.

I'm interested in knowing about this one too.
We've sometimes wondered about adding P11D functionality to 12Pay, but demand from clients or potential clients over the last 3 years has been so close to zero as to be essentially invisible, so other things always get priority.
It is one of those things that we feel our users "ought" to want, but curiously they never ask for it.

OK, that adds one more voice to the calls for the feature! I think that maybe 1-2 sites a year has asked for it. When prospective users ask us on the phone if we have any ommissions in our package compared with the likes of Sage/Iris/Moneysoft we often mention it and far and away the most common response to that is some paraphrase of, "Oh that doesn't matter, we don't do many, and it is only once a year, and they're easy anyway". The thing about P11D (from our POV) is that the filing isn't really the main issue, it is the collection of the data via an expenses ledger in the first place. So P11D sits far more naturally in a bookkeeping system where most of the source data can be collected at a single point of entry. If you just re-key everything into a P11D module at year-end for submission you might as well just have entered it online through HMRC's web interface...
But as it happens we've just signed a deal with a major bureau (many thousands of employees) who have suggested in amongst the other enhancements that they want that they may pay us to develop an expenses module and P11D add-on as from their point of view it could be worth it even if only a couple of their larger clients want it. So watch this space.

Just googled to see if 12Pay does P11Ds and it doesn't.
Consider this a request Tom please :D

I'm another Moneysoft user which deals with P11D's:)
I do rate the package very highly - its a great package for a very reasonable charge.
