Just a quick question...
Why are wholesale/trade-only companies reluctant on giving their trade prices unless you have a trade account with them? I want to know what pricing I would get if I applied for a trade account with a company but they won't tell me until I apply, and there is a £20 charge in signing up!
Thanks
Andy

I have never had a supplier ask me to pay to become a trade customer, dont know about anyone else (newish here) but sounds a bit off to me.

Are you sure its not a directory? Thre are loads of these about where you pay a fee for info & prices. These are a waste of money as you can usually find the info yourself.
It is annoying whent hey won't show the prices & Im sure it costs them business.
We approached a firm sometime back as we had many customers asking for their products. They were kind enough to send through an expensive brochure but not prices. All the product info was on the net but again not prices.
When we pushed them they told us they only supplied prices once we opened a credit account. We didn't need/want credit as we pay as we order.
The brochure must have cost them alot of money to produce but we went to a competitor as they supplied the info we needed by email in a few mins.
If firms make it difficult to do buisness just leave them alone.
