Have set up a goodle adclicks account but am totally confused, to pile my frustration up the pdf files in help aren't working on my computer(normaly pdf's do!) so I puzzled.

Keyword, status and current bid I can understand, I presume it's how much im prepared to pay per click and the keywords im offering in the search to bring up my site, clicks I assume is number of people to have clicked on my site from google search???? Next to the troublesome stuff.

What are Impressions and CTR I have no idea at all and because i don't know that I panicked about the hole thing and paused the campaign which I pessume removes me from being lsited in the sponsored links bit until I unpause?

A mini tutorial from you guys and girls would be much appreciated so I at least no what I am doing, from what I cna see the advert is set up with summary and I have about 20 keywords and phrases but those two columns are bugging me bigstyle!

Thanks for assistance.

You might get a better response in the Marketing section.

Impressions is how many times your ad has appeared when someone conducts a search, but does not indicate how many times it has been clicked.

CTR - Click Through Rate, how many clicks - someone else may be able to explain better.

As for bids - I have set up some campaigns at £0.30/click and £0.90 on the main keywords. You can decide how much you want to pay per click - the higher the price the better position sometimes. You can see to the right what your ad average position is i.e. 1.5, 3.4 etc

If you have 'paused' the campaign it means your ad will not appear and costs will not incur. Just ensure that you have set your maximum monthly budget

No..there is a column for how many clicks to your ad. The CTR is slightly different - it is more of a comparator, the higher the CTR the better.

There are some other people on the forum that may be able to help more because they do this sort of thing every day.

Oh I see, adds are back running now gonna do some google searches myself and see whats showing up. Do your ads show up when people search all of google or just click to search pages in UK?

Well, I spent £100 in one week and made a return of over £4000 with people I've still to talk to. Do it right and Adwords is truly invaluable.
