There's Time Out, but I feel Time Out should be just that: general useless discussions about anything. What about creating another forum that's like Time Out but where debates etc go on? Recently it's been filled with debates about god and so on, and I think there's a place for them. I just find it quite strange that no discussions about politics/sport/general news goes on here, and it might be because there's no forum that anyone believes is the right place for it.

They do do sport now and again, glad it's not often
I just skip those posts, too deep and meaningful for me, plus I don't get half of them.
Give me fishy stuff any day
We could have a serious Time Out and a Fun Time out, then everyone's happy.

We have to remember that it is a business forum.
But the more members it gets and the busier it becomes the need may come for more options.
What do you suggest?
Time Out for mean means 'general chat and fun stuff'

Hi Tom,
You've got the facilities and expertise. Why don't YOU start one, perhaps called, 'Monkey Business?'
Cheers, Nigel

Well, I wouldn't expect every member would be so willing to go to another forum just to chat.
My plan was basically what Jayne said. It is a business forum, but I come here to chat. I consider it more like a laid back networking event than a cold calling event. Get to know people a bit more and have more discussions. Besides, I've got a bet that Jayne can reach 10,000 posts by June ;)

One of my regular sites has it organised into:
1. General = On topic chat (ie in our case business) that doesn't fit neatly into other categories
2. The Water Cooler = Time Out = general off topic but non-contentious or humerous chat
3. The Hundred Year's War = God doesn't exist, bring back haging, US gun laws, AMD vs Intel, Labour vs Conservatives etc etc
Seems to work

What about an IRC chat room as part of the forums?

What about an IRC chat room as part of the forums?
I'm still looking for the toilet - has anyone seen it ? :)
IRC is good but maybe .5% of people know how to use it?
I guess if people wanted to talk about football etc the timeout is as good a place as any. A few months ago timeout was really quiet but it seems to be one of the most active forums now.

I think a chat room is a good idea but not IRC.

I love Time Out, after a morning in a busy bakery, a bit of fun makes me feel much better :D
Plus I read an article on the internet, that it has been proven to be one of the best stress relief methods, even better than a councilor. They did loads of tests to see if it was true. Therefore, I use Time Out for medical purposes

I have a very fast easy to use chat script I would be willing to donate, and even host (maybe chat.ukbusinessforums.co.uk) then if the forums are down the chat would be on a different server.

I like the vBulletin format... which gives it a more modern feel such as the http://youngentreprenuer.com forum
I think its time for UKBF to be 're-decorated'? I think 'blue' is a bit heavy for a forum so perhaps a re-brand is in order?
I think this should take priority over the creation of new forums.

I think it'd be good to have a range of time out forums. I don't think it'd take away the business edge to the forums, as long as we remember to post in the business bits too.
It could bring in new users who don't find the "hardcore" business forum (if ever there was one!) too appealing.
