Hi,
I use mine for chit chat, gossip, to offer free help and private matters which you don't want on the net.
Things I don't want in my PM box and email for that matter, is trying to sell me stuff. If I want to buy stuff or take out paid advertising, I will look for that myself, by searching the forum for long standing members who I know are good.
What are other people's views

Members contact me via PM when they have a debtor problem, they obviously don't want to discuss this via the forum. I give them free advice as to what to do and my service is there if they cannot reslove the issue themselves.
I also confess that I do tend to get flirty PM's too, but that's all the fun of the fair isn't it?
However, I never use it to gossip.

I get PM's from people either asking for more info on us or complaining about stuff on the forum but no flirty pm's :(
Never mind - Mrs Matrixx wouldn't be too happy about then anyway.

I get queries and quote requests for paintings as well as using it for chatting to my friends (you know who you are). Generally moaning about things that annoy me with the regulars and posting stuff I dont want to say out loud.
I hate logging on to find my PM box full of offers from people I've never heard of. Especially when it's for something that is completly unrelated to my business.

goddamit... i suspected flirting went on... :D
My PM is mainly used for telling jayne "sorry for accidentally upsetting somone" in one of her threads, also for apologising to handson for accidentally upsetting him... erm gossiping with alan about various things and in no way flirting... and thats about it.
oh yeah, sometimes i get PM's about work... I feel old! :)
