I have been working on a little Business to Business (B2B) project for the last few weeks and I am hoping to go live in the next week or so... I have the foundations of the new website in place and I am now looking for a handfull of business owners to test drive the system...
I'm not giving to much away at the moment - but If anyone would like to try the system (I am NOT SELLING ANYTHING!) then please PM me for more details...
Anyone who registers with the system and does not like it will have their details removed if they wish - I am after testers at this stage and not trying to con people into registering :D
If all goes well (and people like the idea) then it will be open to everyone on UKBF soon for FREE

Hello Tony
Would people testing your system potentially gain any benefit and if so, along what lines would it be?

The site is 100% totally free to join and is a huge benefit to businesses - all I will say at the moment is BIG DISCOUNTS

Okay - after a few hiccups I think that the site is ready for a few more people to join...
I am going to open this up to everyone at UKBF first, it's totally 100% free to join and will hopefully become a popular business resource...
The Idea.
Simply - in order to become a member you MUST offer other members a BIG discount on your products and/or services, this discount must be a valid discount (I will check) off your normal prices and be a minimum of 20%. In return you will get access to other members who are also offering the same BIG discounts... Everyones a winner
The site works in 2 ways - firstly, registered members can add advertisements for their products and services DIRECTLY to the frontpage of the website (after a quick review from the admin team for obvious reasons).
Secondly each member gets access to the members forums PLUS their own "profile" where they can add their member to member discounts - this is where we require all discounts to be valid for this to work.
So, the site is as www.market4.co.uk
You need to register to get access to the discounts sections, after registering you will get an email to confirm your email address and then I will have to manually approve you to be able to write content directly to the site. In the future this will be used to "approve" members before they join - to validate offers, their business etc etc etc. IF YOU ARE AN AOL USER THEN THERE IS A KNOWN BUG - AOL WILL NOT ALLOW CLICKABLE LINKS IN EMAILS SO YOU WILL NEED TO CONTACT ME TO GET YOUR ACCOUNT MANUALLY VALIDATED.
I am also going to be charging for banner ads on the site if and when it takes off - but I am giving a limited number of ads away FREE to UKBF members if they so wish - just email me a banner (.gif if possible)
There is also a forum to use if you wish to ask questions, point our errors or problems etc...
Good Luck and let me know your thoughts / ideas etc.
Tony

If they're on AOL, why not just have the full link available so that they can copy and paste it?

The user in question tried that but it didn't work...??? I've never used AOL myself so I'm unsure about how and why that would be... It's something that I will be looking into though

It's because AOL is rubbish
It also switches of quite a lot, usually when you are in the middle of stuff, very annoying. They are more bothered with advertising than the customers. AOL just don't care about us the customers at all, just want your brass, they are pants. :D
Feel better now.
